This grip really fit my 629 very well. It helped reduce felt recoil, and fit my hand well. The covered back strap made shooting more comfortable. It was a lot better than the Hogue Monogrip that came with the handgun.

I purchased this and tried to fit it on my new S&W 629 PP; it simply did not fit right and did not perform any better than the factory Hogue grips I intended to replace. There is only one screw that goes across the grips, and if you tighten it well, you can feel the other end on the other side of the grips. The fit was loose and felt hollow in some places. The texture of the grips is rough and uncomfortable compared to the Hogue grips. I returned it to Midway and hope to get a refund. I was very disappointed with this product, although I purchased it based on suggestions of others at the shooting range. Pachmayr needs to look closer at the details of this design, so that form follows function.

Just tried to put one of these on a 296pd. The threaded fastener used to squeeze the clam shell design sticks out of the handle. I could trim the length of the fastener but overall the rubber geometry is way too sloppy. In other words, the mold used for the grip doesn't match the handle of the pistol as there are large gaps between the frame and the rubber.... I've read some good reviews for this application so perhaps Pachmayr has a consistent quality issue. As it stands, I wouldn't recommend this product so I just ordered a S&W grip.

I wasn't crazy about this grip for my S&W 625 PC. The Decelerator made the grip a little big for my medium sized hands. There is a lot of material behind the trigger well and the reach to the trigger is longer. As for comfort; these grips made a very long shooting session a breeze; my hands felt as good at the end as they did at the beginning. Also, this grip is very squishy - too much so in my opinion if one is able to distort the grip at the seams or edges next to the gun by simply squeezing hard. This grip is better for slow work or a hunting revolver. For fast work, a different grip may be better.

I purchased these for my S&W 627 PC 8 shooter. On the range, they functioned well enough but perhaps only slightly better than the rubber Hogues that came with my gun. The benefit is that they cover the back end of the grip. Very disappointing is the fact that I had to shave down the screw with a Dremel because it stuck out too much when tightened.. also there is a lot of extra material due to the molding process. I would have expected something better at this price (the Hogues go for half the price sometimes and seem better thought-out). Overall, they get the job done, but they could have been MUCH better.

If you desire a grip that provides full functionality and permits extended range sessions with the S&W 629 44 mag using full house loads, then you'll be pleased with the purchase of the Pachmayr "N" frame Decelerator Grips.While the factory Hogue Grips are very well made and ideal for low pressure caliber handguns, the Pachmayr softer rubber compound absorbs recoil in areas that would otherwise be transferred to your hand.To really appreciate the difference, you would need to experience a range session with both grips and you'll end up with the same conclusion - the Pachmayr Decelerator grips are purposely made for high pressure, big caliper handguns.The supplied screw is a bit too long, just put a nut on the fastener and use a Dremel to cut off a couple of threads. Then, back the nut off, touch up the freshly cut side with black paint and install.

Bought one of these for my 325pd. The light weight of the gun made even the 45acp round rip the skin off the web of my hand with factory grips. This grip eliminated that problem and actually made the gun a pleasure to shoot! I'm going to buy one for my 442 tomorrow! Great product. Fit well, and took about 2 minutes to install! My groups get better every time I shoot because I now know it won't hurt! I can now shoot 100 rounds and it feels like 6 rounds with factory grips.

These grips cover the back strap which is a big plus over the factory grips supplied with my S&W 329PD. I had no problem with the grip screw or overall fit. I wish they offered these grips in a larger size for those of us with large hands. Overall I am quite satisfied.

All I can say is "WOW." I was disappointed in the Hogue grip that came on my S&W 629-6. With the open backstrap, the skin between my thumb and forefinger got ripped over and over even with a glove. Not now, with the Decelorator I can shoot over and over even without a glove. My 108 lb wife loves shooting it too, which she can do with ease now. Even the 240 grain Winchester Q4240 deer loads are nothing for her. The reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is that I feel that the rubber should be firmer for such a powerful gun. It kind of flops around when you grip it which does not feel solid. The reason I feel this way is that I have the Pachmayr Gripper for my S&W K frame and it looks just like it but is a firmer rubber and feels much more substantial in your hand. I will purchase a Gripper for my 629 if Pachmayr ever creates one. Thanks Pachmayr and MidwayUSA.

Bought these for my 629 carry comp. The factory grips were OK but these really made it a pleasure to shoot. Getting another set for my 625JM. If you have a big bore handgun and want to make it shooter friendly get these grips.
