Product Information

Ultra-light Harris Bipods are lightning quick and manufactured with quality heat treated steel and hard alloys. The bipods are quick-detachable and clamp to the QD stud of bolt action rifles with conventional stock design. Carrying your rifle with a sling or shooting off-hand is not impeded by the use of a Harris Bipod. Series S Bipods rotate to either side for instant leveling on uneven ground. Hinged bases have tension adjustment to eliminate tremor.

Method of Attachment: Attaches to sling swivel stud. A sling swivel can be mounted to the bipod's swivel stud clamp.

Notes:

Rotates to either side for leveling on uneven ground
Most suitable for shooting from the sitting position or kneeling (at full extension)
May not fit all guns; adapters available separately

Notes on Leg Extension Method:

Friction Lock Models

These are all models except those with an M in the model designation
Feature a friction lock or set screw to adjust height
Set screw has a large knurled knob for easy operation
Simply loosen the friction lock to extend leg and tighten to lock in place

Leg Notch Models

These are the models with LM or BRM in the designation
These legs are spring loaded and when the release button is depresses, they kick out to maximum height

Swivel Models

These are the models with S in the designation
Hinged base has tension adjustment and buffer springs to eliminate tremor or looseness

I too tried the 23-1/2 inch other brand, had to really scrunch down to use and not near as solid but my Harris was 3 times the cost. This is a great sitting bipod if you want prone you will probably need a smaller one, I have 2 of the 6 to 9 inch Harris for prone and bench. This was a great addition to my rat gun.

First off, this is a fine piece of equipment. I had the opportunity to compare the shooter's ridge model that extended to 23 1/2", and though they claim to be a near replica the build quality of the Harris is palpable. I am 6' tall and the extra 4 inches this bipod provided were just what I needed to feel comfortable in the sitting position (actually only 2-3 or so inches were needed, but the room for error compared to the Harris that extends to 25" for the same price was the deciding factor for me). The height at the 23 1/2" max of the shooter's ridge left me in an uncomfortable tuck that would not have lent itself to all day hunting out in the field. I would say that my upper torso is not disproportionately longer than my legs, and my friend who is maybe an inch taller than I am also had a chance to try the shooter's ridge, and felt cramped as well. Please do not read this as a bash to the shooter's model. If it had fit me better I would have stuck with it. It, too was well built, but in the end the extra money did equate to better quality, and a better fit. Adjustability of the Harris is good, and firing from the prone position is rock solid, and maybe just an inch too tall for any extended periods in my opinion. Swivel feature is much smoother than the shooter's model though both function very well.

A very good bipod, rock ...

A very good bipod, rock solid for field positions. Works great for sitting or kneeling positions, but just barely too tall for prone shooting. This means that the lowest setting (13 1/2") is just about useless, but for anything higher it's great. The swivel is great for shooting off sloping terrain, and even allows for extra front/back and some rotating movement. Plus it makes my Weatherby look like a full-blown sniper rifle. Very cool!

The Harris 25C swivel bipod has helped me hunt antelope in Wyoming, deer in Montana, elk in Idaho and sage rats in Oregon. It is lightweight and easy to use. It adds confidence to those long shots on big game and to those not so long shots on varmints. The "swivel" is actually better described as a tilt. The rifle does not swivel or rotate around the bipod. The rifle can tilt left or right to level the crosshairs to help maintain accuracy downrange. Buy it! You will be glad you did

This bipod is excellent, as is attested in the other reviews. However, I am 6'5" and this model is a little too tall for me to use at a bench or prone comfortably, yet too short when extended to use sitting except hunched over (and unstable). The bipod extenders can be cammed over to lock, but this defeats much of the design. Good bipod, just an inconvenient size for me.

This is probably the best bipod on the market. It's quick and light. However, the springs can be noisy and could be improved if rubber coated. The legs are two stage and quickly deploy but can only be fine tuned on the top half of the legs and not the bottom half (the leg extensions are two stage). Much better than the Caldwell bipods though more expensive.
