The durable bits fount in this screwdriver set are made from high-grade tool steel hardened to 56-58 Rockwell C. A custom-molded box houses the contents of the set which includes:

2 ergonomic driver handles for delivering maximum torque

54 hollow ground bits specifically designed to match the thin slots in gun screws, sizes ranging from approximately .120 x .020 to .360 x .070

8 Allen bits (1/16, 5/64, 3/32, 7/64, 1/8, 9/64, 5/32, 3/16)

4 Phillips bits (#0, #1, #2, #3)

3 Torx bits (T10, T15, T20)

Note: includes two each of the very thinnest bits in this set, this is intentional as the thinnest are most likely to break

Note on bits:

The bits in these sets are designed to break before damaging the fastener itself. Breakage of a bit should not be considered a defect, rather it means that the fastener will require some other means of removal or an application of a suitable compound that will penetrate threads, such as Kano Kroil.

I bought the wheeler gunsmithing screwdriver set because it had all the bits needed for the guns I work on the most. However, I was upset when the first time I used it, the bit that I chose for the screw I was removing broke. I ended up breaking 3 different bits. When I called about getting them replaced, I was told that I would have to buy them, there was no warranty. The set has a good selection of bit sizes, but break way too easy.

I purchased one of these kits several months ago. Although there are lots of bits, they are functionally....junk. Every time I have applied torque with one of the bits it has snapped. Every time! I've ruined four bits since purchase. There is no question in my mind that all will break over time whenever torque is applied.

This is a good screwdriver set for the money. I did not get offset driver handles like others have mentioned, They were all centered. There is a good selection of screw driver bits for almost any screw on your pistol or riffle. They provide a perfect fit and if used correctly you will never bugger a screw again. It is great they have the replacement bits in stock in case you need to replace one. I would recommend this set over individual screwdrivers. You would have a hard time getting a set of individual screw drivers that is as complete as this Wheeler set. I would recommend this product to any gun owner.

This is generally a great product for someone like me, who only does moderate amateur work. I like having everything I need in one place, and I use them with the FAT. I haven't killed a bit yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if I do. FYI - I bought this because I had broken so many bits from another set I pieced together - this set is already miles ahead of most you'll find in this price range. Metal is softer than some, and it's meant to be that way. If you consider yourself a "gunsmith" then you really need to do it right and buy a $300 screwdriver set. For what I don't like - box isn't the best for latching or travel, but the storage corner on the side is great for extra bits. In its price range, it's 5 stars all the way.

My wife purchased this set for me and paid $99.95 and while all of the bits do fit very well the handles had shafts that were off center making the bit ossilate off the screw when in use. I suspect that these sets are made in China ( what isn't made there today?) and while that isn't necessarily bad, Wheeler should have better control over quality, since their profit is substantial to say the least.I bought a similar set for my garage (though they are not hollow ground) from Home Depot for $11.00!

This screwdriver set is absolutely brilliant. I have been removing and tightening screws for the past several hours and the bit-to-screw fit is exceptional. I removed screws from an English sidelock (brave, when you consider the gun is worth $26,000) and the bits worked perfectly; the screws are unmarked. I would never have done this with another screwdriver. $70 for screwdrivers may seem expensive but it is but a fraction of the cost of the gun you're working on. Well worth the investment.

Less than thirty pounds of torque measured with the FAT wrench snapped off a bit. This caused the screw and scope base to be marred. Midway is sending a replacement tip for the broken one but I am unlikely to trust these for applying torque again. Disappointing since Midway makes a point of marketing these as compatible with the FAT wrench.

Fantastic kit. Since I just work on a few guns as a hobby, this set has all of the bits I will ever need. I had never had a good screwdriver kit before, and this one makes the jobs much easier. Bits are tough, and there is enough variety in this kit to find the flat bit of the perfect slot size to avoid damaging screws. The bits for removing pins and the torx bits are handy as well.

I am very pleased with my set and I'm picky about my tools. Any screwdriver will bend or break if you really lean into it, I don't see why anyone would expect these to be an exception. I had a couple of bits duplicated and two others missing. A call to Midway and a couple of days later the missing bits arrived. Midway stands behind the stuff they sell. There are some obscure bits in this set which most people will never need.

Very nice, very nice indeed. Night and day difference between these tools and what I had been using previously (Home Depot and Wally World screw drivers, etc.). What a difference the correct tool makes. Seems very well made, with a very nice selection of bits. I'm sure you could find something "Better" but for the price you can't beat it. If you're just a shooter and casual tinkerer this is perfect for you. Wish I would have gotten a set years ago. Recommended.Cheers,Mark
