The Lyman Turbo Sonic 2500 Ultrasonic Case Cleaner delivers ultrasonic cleaning action that allows reloaders to clean cases inside and out in less than 10 minutes. The unit features a heated tank that when combined with Lyman's specially formulated case cleaning solution (sold separately) delivers superior case cleaning including removing residue from the inside of the case and primer pockets. Ultrasonic action creates "Microjets" that take off the most stubborn carbon from brass cases, gun parts and other equipment that will fit in the machine.

Cases require dry time after cleaning prior to loading.

I have had this now for two weeks now and will write my review from de-facto use. I can also say that you need to discard all other reviews where the user claims it does not work (except mechanical failure). 1. You must read the instructions.2. You need to use the solution sold by Lyman and use the correct solution for your job. It should also be mixed exactly, use a cup measure or Lyman's measure.4. Pre-heat the solution and the first time run just the solution for 480 seconds to de-gas.5. Place your parts so that they are properly submerged. If you are short of liquid, just don't dump water, maintain the correct ratio. 6. Run first time for 480 seconds, repeat with same time or less as required. This will clean your brass, the primer pocket too. Using the correct solution it will also clean your gun parts. I re-use my solution as I filter it into a plastic bottle using a cone with two coffee filters in it.I did clean a S&W 22A barrel with the gun cleaning solution and it came out simply clean and nice. Make sure you rinse it in water and once dry oil it to prevent new rust. This gadget will also remove rust from screws, especially the ones on compound bows which attract rust like second nature.I can now say that the bad reviews are because of guys not following the instructions and also not using the correct solution in the correct ratio.Hope this helps.

This machine would not work straight out of the box. I was so excited to receive it and get away from using the messy and time consuming tumbler. I removed it from the box, plugged it in, filled it with water and solution per the instructions and pushed the power button. Aside from the screen flashing, nothing happened. After repeatedly pressing the power button, it would occasionally and very briefly turn on but would not stay on. After 3 or 4 more tries, with the same results, back in the box it went. Highly disappointing and irritating. Clearly this was just a bad unit, however after this experience, I ordered a completely different manufacturer to replace as this bad unit left a bad taste in my mouth.

My data so far is based on 100 41 magnum brass shot on average 3 times and not cleaned before. It does a great job on flash holes, primer pockets and the case mouth. I am using the hot water setting set for 3 minutes. You can get muliple cleanings out of a solution so have all your brass ready to go.

I gave the cleaner one star because it will clean if you have enough time and nothing else to do. Example: Heated the solution and installed 150 once fired name brand factory load brass. Started with 480 sec cycle and continued with this cycle. cleaner overheated and shut down after three cycles. Had to wait thirty minutes for it to cool down. Ran a fourth cycle. Shells were still not a 100% clean. You can not leave the machine. When it overheats cleaner shuts down but timmer keeps going. I could keep going but would take too much space. My best advice is read the other negative reviews and believe them. Wish I had. I don't know what I am going to do with mine. It is not heavy enough for a boat anchor and I can use only approved targets at range.

I love my Sonic Cleaner and I can't say enough positive things about Lyman. I did something stupid and basically blew up my Sonic Cleaner. I shipped it back to Lyman and explained that the breakage was due to my own negligence and that I would pay for any repairs and shipping costs. I just received a brand new unit in the mail......no charge. Now that's great customer service.

Well, it works good on primer pockets. Thats about it. To get the cases as "shiny" (the way I like them) you still have to tumble. If you don't mind dull brass this is the machine for you. I haven't tried it yet on gun parts, but I hope it works better.

Just purchased the unit. Cases come out ok but take several cycles. Cycles are timed in seconds not Min. Dont use the metal cleaner on anodized aluminum, it will eat your finish even if the ultra-sonic unit is off!

I bought one of these unit to clean out primer pockets on brass I use only for revolvers. I have competition action jobs on my revolvers and use only Fed primers. If the pockets get too dirty, the primers won't seat properly. Hence, the Sonic cleaner. Well, in short, it doesn't clean out the pockets very well. I tried it on new brass that had been fired once. I de-primed them, heated up the solution (with distilled water & Lyman cartridge solution), and ran about 100 45 ACP through 4 full cycles. No joy. Some of the pocket did come clean, but others had to be manually cleaned. The cases were clean inside and out, but not all the pockets. To me, that is a big minus and not worth extra time and mess. However, it works well with general parts cleaning. I lent this unit to a friend that didn't believe me when told him how it worked and he had the same results. My advice to you if you need clean primer pockets, de-prime the cases, tumble them and then manually clean them as necessary.

Cleans cases pretty well. I deprimed before washing with the hopes that the primer pockets would be clean. No such luck. After (4) 480 second cycles, primer pockets still not clean, however the carbon is easier to remove by hand. Cases still need to be polished via tumbler. Hope to find some use cleaning parts to justify the purchase.

Best purchase for my reloading setup since I purchased my first press. This will get the insides of your cases cleaner than you have ever imagined possible just make sure you've deprimed them first. Wonderful product and seems very durable.
