The Redding Competition 10X-Pistol and Small Rifle Powder Measure was specifically designed to achieve the best metering possible at the targeted charge weight of approximately 10 grains. The accurate charge range of this measure is from 1 to 25 grains making it ideal for all popular pistol calibers and small rifle calibers such as the 17 Hornet and 5.7x28mm FN. The metering cavity was designed with a test tube-like bottom to ensure extremely consistent and accurate metering. This measure features a drum assembly that can be easily changed from right to left hand operation and can be adapted to some progressive reloading presses. Bench-front mounting bracket included.

Just got my Redding Competition 10X-Pistol powder measure and it's AWESOME!!! Set up took all of 5 minutes or less and measures DEAD ON right on of the box. Measured every 10th case and everyone was less than .1 gr variation. Makes me want to load more.

Consistently measures Unique, no 9, N-110 and W231 powders +/- 0.1 grains. The chamber may not meter full house loads in 44 mag and up with lighter bullets. I think it throws about 25 grains of Unique at full chamber setting but I don't know if the precision is as good with that chamber aspect ratio. I do not like the screws used to hold the hopper in place. They are not necessary as the hopper slip fits into the body. Otherwise it's a 5 star product.

This is the most consistent and accurate powder dispenser I have used for pistol powders and pistol size charges. It will hold +/-0.2 gr worse case, most charges are within +/-0.1 gr. This is based on a variety of powders (W231, Unique, 2400, H110, HS6, Universal, etc.) throwing a 10 gr charge. The only powder it does not throw accurately is IMR 800X. Here, 6 of 7 charges will be very close, but the 7th charge will be 1.5-2 gr low. But then again, I've yet to see any powder measure that works with 800X except for an electronic dispenser. Clearances are very tight, so expect it to be a bit rough until residue from the powder coatings gets worked into all the mechanicals.

I bought this powder measure because I was not satisfied with the accuracy or ease of adjustment of my RCBS Uniflow. Upon inspection I found this measure to be very well made. The tolerances between moving parts are extremely tight. The consistancy of the powder throws are great. Most of the time it will be dead on the amount that I need. Otherwise, +- 0.1gr. Every once in a blue moon, it will be 0.2gr off, but that's rare. The micrometer adjustment is easy to set. The next time that you use it, put the micrometer on the same value and it will throw the same amount of powder. Before I start throwing charges, I tap the measure twenty times on each side to compress the powder. Otherwise, as with any powder measure, the powder will compress some as you throw your charges. I'm very satisfied with this powder measure.

The Redding 10-x measure ...

The Redding 10-x measure performs well and is well made. I like Redding's method of attaching the reservoir tube to the base of the measure, two small screws through matching holes in the reservoir.I also like it's small size, better for measuring small quantities of powder. My other measures are quite large (RCBS Uniflo and Midway). For large rifle cases, the large size is an advantage, but not when charging pistol loads or small rifle, like 22 Hornet, cases.Redding designs the powder baffle to be held tight in the reservoir. Although I understand their reasoning, it allows for a taller column under the baffle for more uniform measures, It makes cleaning the measure difficult since the baffle does not come out easy and repeated removal of the baffle will ultimately scratch the reservoir tube.

This thing is accurate. I put it through a test of loading over 250+ 10mm rounds I was really paranoid about using a new tool so I decided to measure every charge. Yes it took a long time to do but the results were impressive. The measure was never off more than +/- .1 grains. As a matter of fact I found that if I did get a larger variation than that it was because I had spilled powder on the scale or the scale need to be re-calibrated. The adjustments were accurate and repeatable. I have used it with HS7 and universal powder so far. I don't regret this purchase one bit.

This product has worked superbly for me. I've been impressed with its solid construction, smooth operation, and its consistently precise metering. As advertised, it doesn't handle very large powder charges, so if you load a lot of 45-70 then this measure is not your first choice. However, I've found it's perfect for small cartridges such as my 17 Ackley Bee and 17 Mach IV, which are pretty sensitive to variations in the powder charge.
