I used this to replace the two-piece full-length guide rod on my Springfield TRP. Fit and finish is excellent. I just put 200 rounds through my TRP with this installed and had perfect function. Love my TRP and my Ed Brown parts!

Finally got fed up. Switched out the full length guide rod and plug that came on my Desert Eagle 1911G with this and the Ed Brown stainless recoil spring plug. Both fit perfectly and now I don't have to go crawling around the house looking for the plug that came on the pistol... again! If I ever get another 1911 with a full length guide rod, I'll immediately order another set of these parts and switch it out rather than deal with the hassle.

I have a Springfield Loaded .45 acp pistol. It came from the factory with a two-piece full length guide rod. An allen wrench is needed to take down the pistol. There were no functioning problems but I just didn't like the idea of having to use a tool to take down the pistol. I also ordered the Ed Brown spring plug as well. At the same time, I replaced the recoil spring with a new 17 pound Wilson Combat spring. After a trip to the range and 150 rounds later, no problems at all. 100% reliable. And taking down the pistol is so much easier....simpler........as it had been designed. As usual, MidwayUSA's service is fast and reliable, making it a pleasure to do business with them. Thanks Larry!!

Great drop in for my 1911, I got this with the Ed Brown recoil spring plug, and it replaced my annoying 2 piece screw on rod on my Springfield loaded model. Works and looks great.

When I first put it on I could not get the slide back off my RIA 1911 because it was so tight...i ground some parts down to make it look like how my old one was and sanded it off and now it's great...so make sure that it's not too tight in your 1911 before you put it all together or you have to pry it open.

The large flange makes for a great drop-in fit. However the back face nipple-like area that fits the inside of the frame may need to be ground down, depending on the bottom lugs of your barrel they may hit the back side of this nipple-like area as did mine so if you bevel off the spot to where the bottom barrel lugs hit you got it made as this part is machined well and appears true. What I just mentioned is not a problem with who made this part as this is a common issue when swapping or modifying parts mainly barrels and guide rods. I find this part to be extremely high quality and it would be my first pick over others, I'm totally happy with it.
