The Redding G-Rx Carbide Base Sizing Die meets the need of the reloader needing to reload brass shot through some of the most popular autoloaders today. These autoloaders, when fired, produce a bulge at the bottom of the brass, which normal sizing dies can not reach and remove, rendering the brass unusable. Simply push the brass through the sizing die and the bulge in the web of the brass is removed. This step fully sizes the brass back within the accepted SAAMI specification for brass diameter. After the brass has been pushed through the die it may be resized in a standard sizing die allowing once unusable brass to be reloaded normally.

Carbide die does not require the use of case lubricant to resize the brass

The G-Rx die set comes packaged with a pusher rod which fits into the ram like a shell holder and the unique push through sizing die with lock ring.

To use simply place the brass on top of the pusher rod. Then raise the ram to push the brass entirely through the die. The resized brass is then held in a rebated portion of the die for easy removal.

An optional bottle (Product #471-996) and bottle adaptor (Product #789-703) are available. When these two accessories are combined they make collecting the sized brass very convenient speeding up the sizing process

This is the die that I wish Redding had originally produced. I have one of the original steel G-RX dies that I purchased directly from Redding as soon as they started making them. I really like that die, but didn't like the fact that I needed to use lube for the cases, which certainly slows down the process when I am running 1000 or so cases through it. So when Redding announced their carbide version of the G-RX, I purchased it from MidwayUSA and am a contented .40 S&W reloader now. I process lots of range brass from the club I belong to, and it appears a significant amount of that brass is fired through Glocks or similar guns that do not fully support the casehead. Regardless, this die reforms the sidewalls of the case, removing the bulge near the casehead, so that they are back to factory specs and process through my progressive press with ease. As with the steel die, you are best served by first cleaning your cases so you prevent scratching your brass with the dirt when you push the case through the die. I also recommend the bottle attachment so you can process a batch of brass at once with ease. I process about 250 cases through this die every 20 minutes, so processing 1000 cases at a time does not take much time. This die is more than twice as fast for processing as the steel die simply because I don't have to bother with the lubing of cases prior to processing and wiping the cases after sizing. This die is well worth the money and it will save you more than its cost in brass saved for reloading if you shoot and reload .40 S&W in quantity. Incidentally, I process brass and nickel cases through this die with equal ease. I have even processed a bunch of the black nickeled Hornady TAP cases through the die with no problems.

The carbide die set works good as advertised. I have run most of the various types of brass through it. Some shells are tighter than others. In my opinion the die set I am using would work better if it was one thousandth of an inch tighter. this will make the operation stiffer, but the shell would reform closer to original specifications. I am suggesting that there may be a spread of diameters in production that are acceptable, but all may not be desirable. Perhaps listing the actual die diameter as a choice for selecting the one best suited to the consumer need would be good. perhaps Three different sizes would be a better way to view this. Anyhow, the set I have produces a good looking and 100% reloadable round. thank you for making this tool available and in carbide. P/S if the carbide insert was one sixteenth inch longer this also would be better.

Just ordered the Carbide Base Sizing Die, I wore out a steel version, wished they would have had this available earlier. Don't need the bottle adapter though, cut a hole in a round tube (like a certain brand of potato chips) to direct the brass into a pan sitting on the bench. Much quicker to empty.

I have had this die for a few hours and have ran over 1000 cases through it. The die works as advertised, and the coke bottle adapter is a nice accessory. I have a Lyman crusher press that is thick up top where the dies thread in. The coke bottle adapter will not fit with a jam nut installed so I used the adapter as a jam nut and just hand tighten it and it works like a champ. Every case I have ran through it fits in my go/nogo gauge perfectly.

Die works very well. The spring loaded cup helps because you don't have to worry about the case position. Tips, use a little lube for smoother action just like you would with carbide sizing dies and keep your fingers clear while raising the ram.

This thing is GREAT!!! I check all my handloads with a Max Case Gauge. A number of them have bulges at the base, making them unusable. BUT, this die fixes the bulge. You can even run a handloaded, out of spec round through it, making it usable again (as long as you are within COAL guidelines). WORKS ON 10MM! Thanks Redding! Now I can get more out of my brass, SAVING ME MONEY!

This is awesome. I saw some other workarounds of the glocked bulges that 40 S&W cases have (and it is not just Glocks that do this). This is the best option, particularly the carbide die. I actually broke my first one, my fault for talking and not paying attention to the upside down case. I will still rate it 5 stars. This product is awesome. I am surprised no other manufactures try to copy this die.
