The Magpul MOE Remington 870 Shotgun Forend is a highly ergonomic, light weight, drop-in forearm assembly that is fully compatible with Magpul MOE rails, mounts and accessories for greater versatility. The MOE forend is longer than the factory forearm, and incorporates front and rear hand stops for additional muzzle control. Will not interfere with most aftermarket side-saddle shell carriers. For use with 12 Gauge Remington 870 Shotguns only.

NOTE: MOE Forend is NOT compatible with Remington 870 Super Mag shotguns.

This forearm installed ...

This forearm installed quickly and easily by using the included tool. As noted previously, it's very handy that MagPul includes this tool in the box. I'm not a huge fan of the way this looks on the gun, but am not overly worried about the aesthetics either. I DO LIKE the ability to attach short pieces of rail to the forearm, and thereby attach a light to my shotgun. I'll note that the design helps provide a positive hold and works well when cycling the gun under time pressure. I DO NOT LIKE that this forearm extends further forward than the factory stock, so it is obstructed when using the Scattergun Technologies Side Mount Sling Plate, preventing the slide from moving all the way forward and keeping the action from locking closed. Either device works well, but they do not work well together.

The Magpul MOE forend ...

The Magpul MOE forend itself, along with the service from Midway USA was 5 star. The only issue I had was the installation. I have replaced the forend on a lot of shotguns, both Remington 870's, and Mossbergs a like. This particular gun was a Remington 870 police magnum I bought used. It had thread locker either applied at the factory, or by the previous owner on the castle nut. This may be particular to the police model. If I had it to do again, I would go ahead and buy a new forend tube and castle nut, and just replace the whole thing as an assembly. I finally installed it and it looks and works great. Now I need the Magpul SGA buttstock.

Magpul has once again out ...

Magpul has once again out done themselves. After months of waiting, the forend finally showed up on my doorstep today. Installed in less than 10 mins thanks to the castle nut tool that Magpul includes! Excellent fit and finish, nice and snug no side to side slop. The forend is a little longer than stock and so much more comfortable. Also allows the shooter to customize with side attachments and/or vertical grips. Quit reading and order this now!

I did a review on the Magpul buttstock as well, and this product is no different. Excellent and well thought out through and through. Great material, excellent fit to the forend tube. No movement or rattle whatsoever and the tool to remove and install the forend nut is included and worth keeping! It would probably stand up to regular use. Between using the 12" length of pull on the buttstock and adding this forend the shotgun feels great. The factory 870 stock is too long for me to shoot comfortably and I really had to concentrate on keeping a correct grip on the forend while working the action vigorously, especially if I was sweating. (I am 5'10" with average arm length I suppose) This is a defensive shotgun and I have much more control of the weapon. Well worth the money. If you appreciate quality and efficient manipulation, this would be hard to beat in my opinion.
