Combining the light weight of a standard 2-piece hand guard with the flexibility to add picatinny rail, the MOE has slots at two, ten, and six o'clock positions for attaching rail for lights, lasers, and vertical grips. Extensions on the sides and a lower lip protect the operator from a hot gas block and barrel. Molded from reinforced, heat resistant polymer for durability and light weight.

Bought this for a CMMG ...

Bought this for a CMMG Piston Carbine. The material, workmanship and finish are all Magpul's high standard. I wrote this review for one reason: !WARNING! IF your rifle has a larger than standard diameter gas tube assembly OR does not have a standard triangular forward handguard retaining ring - this product MIGHT not fit. For my CMMG - Factory Gas Piston - IT DOES NOT FIT - even with work-arounds.

The MOE is great if youre ...

The MOE is great if youre looking for something lightweight and ergonomic.. Its ability to mount rails in places you want accessories is a great feature.The downsides I have come across are that the two side rails being angled can mean that some aftermarket parts wont work with your gun such as a brass catcher.. Also this might just be me, but I dropped my gun off my back from about waist high, the front of the MOE cracked just slightly, but it cracked from a very short fall, I emailed MAGPUL but as of 9 days later I have yet to get a response back.. I know their busy but its kind of a let down.All in all if youre looking for a Non Free Float handguard, this one adds looks and some nice features for not a ton of money.

I wanted to keep my S&W M&P15-ORC fairly lightweight, so aluminum quad rails were out. I didn't need that much rail space anyways. However, I had some reservations about a polymer handguard, since I still wanted a vertical grip. However, once I received them, I was convinved these would hold up fine. It was a piece of cake to attached the vertical grip and a small rail for a light. It was just as easy to then install onto my carbine. I generally don't sweat aesthetics, but I can't deny my carbine looks pretty nice with the Magpul MOE handguard and accessories. Best of all, it kept the weight down.

The MOE handguard is a great way to shave some weight of your AR. It's comfortable and still very versatile at a great price point. I would recommend it to anyone, but I recommend getting a rail kit and/or their light kit for it. Might as well slap it on before you put it on the rifle, because you won't be disappointed with the handguard once you have it on the rifle and have used it.

Easy to install and it looks great. Accepts the foregrip that is made for it. Does not have accessory rails per se. It has holes to mount things like the grip.

As with all magpul equipment I have purchased, this handguard is beyond awesome. The most recent moe handguard I bought is on a DPMS LR-308 Oracle carbine. Wasn't sure if it would fit but it went on without a hitch and has enhanced the weapons shootability and looks awesome too!
