Product Information

The Utility/Battle Rifle (UBR) stock is adjustable for length of pull like a standard M4-style collapsible stock, yet offers the same stability, head position and cheek weld advantages offered by a conventional fixed stock. This is due to the unique design of the 2 piece buttstock, with the lower half of the stock moving to accommodate the length desired by the shooter while the upper half remains in a stationary position on the rifle's buffer tube. A battery compartment near to toe of the lower stock half and multiple quick detach sling swivel mounting points offer extra versatility. Stock comes complete with it's own proprietary buffer tube, which must be installed on the user's rifle. Uses standard AR-15 carbine (M4) buffer and buffer spring (not included).

Great Stock! Install was ...

Great Stock! Install was easy and it really helps balance out my AR. Tons of features not seen on other stocks. Had a CTR but glad I got this instead, worth the money! Thanks to midway for finally having the olive drab ones in stock!

I installed my UBR a few ...

I installed my UBR a few years ago on a Sig 556 rifle & yes, it's heavy BUT it is STURDY! The weight did actually help counterbalance the nose heavy Sig. It doesn't wobble with excess play that you find on cheaper stocks, including the one Sig supplied with my rifle. Just a very solid, well built stock.

This is the best stock, ...

This is the best stock, hands down no comparison. It is easy to take apart and put together and easy to install. Very stable with no slip or shake at all. It is very heavy and adds weight to the back of your gun which is helpful when you have a foregrip and/or tactical flashlight. I will be buying many more of these.

Well made and very solid ...

Well made and very solid stock. Does not rattle and can be set to extend to a set length using the supplied set screws. Also comes with two QD mounts on the left side that can be moved to the right side if need be, or you could add an extra set to the right side. Has extra screws and a sticker for your shop or car. Love the removable storage compartment. Large enough for a few emergency rounds, batteries, or a small oil container. Would recommend to others. Worth the investment.

Absolutely AMAZING stock. ...

Absolutely AMAZING stock. Simple to install (had the old stock off and this one on in under 5 min). Awesome blend of adjustment and rigidity. As advertised, gives the stability of a fixed stock with the modularity of a collapsible stock. If I had to say anything bad about this stock I would have liked to see it come with the enhanced recoil pad, but other than its a great system. Some say that the UBR is too heavy but I feel that it balances my rig very nicely.

When it comes to AR ...

When it comes to AR stocks Magpul has to be the best, I bought this for the carbine I'm building and I couldn't be happier. When I first picked up the box I could tell this wasn't just another cheap compromise like tapco and some of the other companies because it weighed like 5lbs, there is absolutely no play when the stock is extended, and the compartment in it can be removed if you want a cutout in the middle more like the MOE style. After this experience the stock I get for my full sized AR will definitely be another Magpul!

Very nice design, 1st ...

Very nice design, 1st rate engineering solves most of the issues I have with other buttstocks for AR's.It is heavy, more than I would have at first estimated. I only give it 4 as once I set a preset position it became more difficult to change stock extensions. I have not as yet chased down why exactly that is the case.

Nice, solid adjustable ...

Nice, solid adjustable stock as others have noted. Unfortunately, mine arrived missing 2 of the 4 screws that retain the cheek rest. Fortunately, MagPul has great customer service (as does Midway, of course). Instead of inconveniencing everyone involved by returning it to Midway, I emailed MagPul and had the missing screws 2 days later.

What a great solid ...

What a great solid performing stock! I've been searching for a stock that did not wobble, look cheap and fail in the performance department and I found it. I'm glad I waited for this stock instead of settling on a cheaper model. Some pros:1. Built solid.2. Permanent cheek rest with the option of an adjustable stock.3. Fits into your AR or M4 with no wobble. Cons:1. For the money, the stock should have the upgraded recoil pad. I'd recommend this stock to my friends and would buy another for my next AR.

I ordered this stock to ...

I ordered this stock to put on my issued M4 for my upcoming deployment. All I can say is I wish I had it on my previous deployment! This is by far the best stock I have ever used on an AR series rifle! The multiple settings for extension ensure that the rifle is at the perfect length for use when wearing my body armor or just shooting at the range. By using the preset screws I can adjust it to extend to the perfect length every time, no adjusting the stock back up from extending it too far. Also the upper portion of the stock being static helps ensure that I have a perfect cheek weld no matter what extension I have the stock on. A must buy for anyone that wants a comfortable AR! Just about everyone in my company wants it for their rifle too, ignore the price, it's worth every penny!
