Muzzle brakes are used to increase muzzle control while also adding a custom look to any firearm with the correct muzzle thread. Muzzle brakes can contain any combination of ports and holes which help disperse gases up, down, left or right. With even dispersion of gases, felt recoil is reduce and a higher level of muzzle control is acquired.

As I write this there are 10 reviews posted, all ratings are 5 stars. Not too many products have all 5 stars. Easy to attach. I put mine on a Rock River LAR 308 with a 16 in barrel. Reduced recoil and almost eliminates muzzle jump. If you look at the rifle from the side when the gun is shot there is simply no muzzle jump. With my particular gun I get a lot of gas blowback towards my face, but you get use to it. It will clear out the shooters on the benches next to you at the range. It directs alot of sound and gas to the side! I don't know if it takes recoil to a 223 level but it significantly reduces recoil to the point that anybody could shoot the gun. It is loud.

Completely different feel! Feels like a 5.56. Definitely has more blast on the sides. Might need to double up ear pro. Would highly recommend. Loving it. DON'T FORGET TO BUY CRUSH WASHERS.

Like most of the others said, this brake works great! I have it on my LR308, and it's definitely less recoil than a similar .223. As for the sound, behind the gun isn't too much louder, but to the sides is a whole different story!..IT'S LOUD!! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a great performing, looking and sounding muzzle brake. And, as always, Midway rocks!

i have a dpms ap4 308win. that had too much recoil for a semi 308. the brake installed easily and looked cool. better yet it really tamed the rifle down to the recoil of about a 243 win. what a difference! would highly recommend.

i had read in other reviews that the recoil with the AR10 was reduced to 223 levels after installing this muzzle brake. that was no exaggeration. first time out i was able to make 3 hits at 775 yards in 10 seconds. wasn't possible before because the rifle always wanted to jump 6" to the right requiring a reposition after each shot. and it looks good.

Does an excellent job of reducing the recoil of my LR-308AP4. I've had the rifle 3 years and installing this brake has really renewed my enthusiasm for this rifle, which was quite uncomfortable to shoot until now. I am able to shoot more accurately than ever before now that I'm not wincing as much. It does direct much of the sound back toward the shooter though - my ears were ringing after a single shot, even with foamies properly inserted deep into my ear canals. I had to wear double hearing protection and hope that it was adequate.

All I can say is WOW! I put this on my DPMS LR-308 and it is a totally different gun. It barely kicks and the muzzle stays nice and flat. I can shoot this all day now without a problem. I would recommend this for an DPMS 308. It fits great and looks even better.

I put this on my LWRC Rapid Engagement Precision Rifle with 20" barrel and was very impressed with the reduction in rifle movement when fired. I can rapid-fire 10+ rounds on target at 500yds without losing sight picture or missing the 2x2 target (that's good equipment). It does make the rifle a little louder and creates more overpressure beside the rifle. This brake does everything it was designed to do and it does it well, and it looks cool too.

I put this brake on my Armalite AR-10 and it made a huge difference in recoil reduction. My .308 now has less recoil than my .223. If I had to guess I would say that it reduced recoil 70%+. As far as noise goes I did not notice a big difference being behind the gun however it will be louder if you are standing to the side.
