I bought my 2.5" sun shade a few months back for my Leupold VX-III 4.5x14x50 mounted on my customized 308. And have shot it with greatly increased viewing results because of it.

I purchased both the 4" and 2.5". Both fit perfectly to my M1 4.5-14x50. Fitted with either the 2.5" or the 4",my FOV is not affected . My Butler creek flip covers sizes 40 obj, 14 eye, fit fine too.

I am not sure why other guy had issues. Maybe he had wrong year Leupold. This piece fit like a glove on my Mark 4 4.5-14X50mm, and I don't see any difference when looking through retical. Also the Butler Creek caps fit like a glove. Excellent buy in my opinion. But it is just my opinion.

I do not like Leupolds ...

I do not like Leupolds design of this product. Instead of necking down this sunshade to receive the threads of the scope and fitting flush, making it a true 50mm sunshade they took the easy way and made the entire extension out of the same stock. I don't like the way it makes my scope look plus reduces my field of view. Also if you bought Butler Creek covers for the 50mm bell it will not fit with this sun shade.
