Product Information

The MI/ US Palm AK-47 railed handguard is designed to fit most milled and stamped variants of the of the AK family. The handguard attaches around the barrel to provide a solid mounting platform. The upper portion of the handguard is attached to the lower handguard, instead of the gas tube to provide a solid platform to mount optics. The upper handguard is designed with optic specific mounts. Iron sights are usable in the lower third of most optics. The Handguard is constructed with 6061 hardcoat anodized aluminum, mil-spec 1913 rails with T-marks. Installs with provided tools. Lifetime warranty, made in the USA.

The mount is rock solid ...

The mount is rock solid and went on easy. There is virtually no heat build up at all - stays very cool even after doing a couple of mag dumps. I was hoping for a little more of a co-witness on the irons, but they are definitely there. I'd rate it 4.7 if it was an option, so I'm rounding it up. Great product.

I'm a big fan of this ...

I'm a big fan of this handguard, I am currently using it on an SGL 21. The fit and finish is great and the install is pretty straight forward, it doesn't get very warm at all even after unloading a few 30 round mags quickly, and it's price is awesome(basically the cheapest non polymer handguard on the market). The 1 thing I would like to see changed is to not have the top portion mounted to the lower portion. Having to remove the top half from the bottom half to remove the gas tube is kind of a pain. I no longer remove the gas tube when cleaning now, just spray some windex down it, swab it out, and call it a day. Another great thing about this is being able to co-witness the iron sights through the Burris FastFire.

This is a fantastic ...

This is a fantastic product. I have an Ulitmak on an AK47, and it is very solid, but in transfers ALOT of heat to the optic. Only the aimpoint has been able to withstand the heat. This forend/top cover is outstanding. Mine is in flat dark earth with the matching US Palm grip on a Romanian AK74. Takes some time to mount and level ( guntight the heck out of it). Burris co-witnesses front sight, very little heat even after a few magazines, and it is very light. I hope they make one for the RPK soon.

Rock solid mounting! ...

Rock solid mounting! Seems to be pretty well made, the edges of the rail are a little rough but the anodizing is evenly applied, it looks bad ass. The way it attaches is different than I expected but good. The only thing that isn't great about the way it mounts is that you can't remove the gas tube after it's installed(unless you remove the top rail). But for the $$, you could do a lot worse! It even comes with allen wrenches and loctite. If for no other reason, get it cause it looks good!
