Product Information

Manufactured from 6061 aluminum and hard coat anodized for durability, these 2-piece handguards are a drop-in replacement upgrade over factory plastic handguards. Offering a quartet of M1913 Picatinny accessory rails with laser engraved T-marks, installation follows the same procedure used for the original polymer handguards. No gunsmithing or permanent gun alterations are necessary. Handguards are compatible with direct gas and most gas piston operating systems for added versatility.

Added these rails to my new AR build. After shopping many brands for value with the FDE color, I chose these Midwest Industries rails. I'm glad I did. They fit perfectly, they're light, and they look great on my AR. Why pay double for another brand? I'm going to buy another set for the next upper I have on order. Also make life easier with the delta ring depressor tool.

I recently installed my Gen 2 carbine length rail. I originally had a UTG rail for my Bushmaster carbine that weighed in at a whopping 11.5oz. This MI Gen 2 rail weighed a mere 7.4oz. I bought this because of the better finish, QD releases, and the lighter weight. I AM SO IMPRESSED! WORTH EVERY PENNY! Buy this rail if you're in the market, you won't be disappointed.

I mounted this on my LMT ...

I mounted this on my LMT Standard Patrol Model and it fit like it was made for it . The Midwest adds say 7", but don't worry they are actually 6" 5/8 which is exactly what the factory handguards are. Awesome for the money.

Bought one of these for a ...

Bought one of these for a 20" barreled A2 style DPMS. Installation was as easy as the old stock plastic hand guards. Handling the rifle is a bit different because it feels bulkier especially paired up with Magpul rail covers, but I'm sure I'll adjust. Didn't really feel any noticeable wobble either. Great product, just be warned, it's going to feel different the first time you handle the rifle with these installed.

A great replacement for your factory handguards. Fit and finish is perfect. The handguard picatinny rails lined up perfectly on my Smith & Wesson M&P 15 upper receiver's rails.

Excellent quality and ...

Excellent quality and build. I have a Rock River Arms Entry Tactical Upper and like another poster the fit was EXTREMELY tight. It was incredibly difficult to install however I did not have a D-Ring Tool. Once I finally got it on it is rock solid and feels great. I mounted a Tango down grip and have had no problems. Would recommend but I would definitely have D-Ring tool handy unless you want a headache.

Very pleased with the ...

Very pleased with the MCTAR-18 FDE. Fits my Rock River H-Bar middy perfect. It's the only rail that I have bought that has worked on a heavy barrel AR. KAC covers fit tight and so does my Tango Down grip which means it is 1913 spec. Weight is just a wee bit more than the junk plastic handguards. Thanks MI for a great product and a big thanks to Midway for the top notch service.

Very lightweight rail ...

Very lightweight rail that is very easy to install, and is rock solid. If you're got a 20" rifle and you'd like to mount a bipod or perhaps a VFG or AFG, this is the way to go. The rail markings are accurate to mil spec. Comparing this to the UTG that I had before, this takes the cake hands down. Great replacement forearm.
