I don't own this kit but I own Leupold rings. They're generally ok but don't believe that the screw heads don't strip. I have one Leupold ring which cannot be removed from a scope.

High quality screws, all torx. This kit has saved me several times, usually because the screws that came with the base (e.g. mounting a Rem700 base on a Wby Mark 5) are too long and contact the bolt.

This isn't a purchase ...

This isn't a purchase that is going to get your juices flowing. Much like buying tires for your truck; it's a necessity, sort of like insurance. Primarily, I purchased this item just to have replacement screws in stock should I ever need them. What's to say, a screw is a screw right (we're talking about gunsmithing here)? The advantage I saw in having a replacement set of screws in torx format is that sometimes we find ourselves in need of having to remove a scope and replace it with another. Many of my ring to mount set-ups are based on the old slotted screw arrangement. If and when it comes time to effect a replacement why not be provisioned to replace those old slotted screws with a new set of torx screws? I find these tighten up nice and snug and do not require any Loctite or other chemical adhesive to hold them fast. The manufacturers say chemical adhesives are not needed with torx screws, and so far I believe they are correct.

This kit paid for itself immediately. I was able to rebuild 4 rings sets that were missing screws. These screws were perfectly matched to the originals. I also used them in several rings other than Leupold. Great set to have on the bench for when you bugger up a screw head.

These are GREAT replacements for screws in older bases and rings, and in mounts of other brands. They are properly hardened and will tighten down without stripping or buggering the head as is common with straight or hex head screws.

I want to urge you to buy this product. It comes in a Leupold box, the technical description is accurate. These screws are ten times better than the old hex-head screws. WAY more torque, they won't head-strip and round-off. Buy the box! You aren't going to save any money by trying to get smaller quantities. It's simply an indispensable box of Torx screws that you WILL use, as your gun collection grows or you put glass on your rifles. Ultimately, this box will be a major cost and time saving. No negatives.
