I bought this item last ...

I bought this item last month and recently applied it to my Glock 17, 3rd Generation. Last night I took it to the range and fired 150 rounds. This item really works great. The abrasive texture, while rough was not too abrading to the hand. During firing, I noticed an 80% reduction in muzzle flip. I know the 9MM isn't a real kicker but the factory grip was a bit slippery and allowed the pistol to slide during firing. Now that I have added a texture to the grip frame, it doesn't move. Buy an application. You can get a full foot of this tape at a hardware store for about the same amount but this is pre cut to fit perfectly so IMHO, the price was more than reasonable. Follow the installation instructions and clean the surface well. It comes with pads to apply to the slide but since I don't have issues with slide retraction, and I believe that only fools pull a slide to the rear from the front of the slide (too close to the muzzle for my liking) I used the large pads on the thumb indentation and the small pads on the frame just behind the trigger pivot pin for additional control. For less than 10 bucks, it changes the entire dynamics of this pistol.

Good for weapon retention, but if you carry against your skin it will cut the heck out of you.
