Made with #12 compressed shot, Glaser Blue Safety Slugs were designed for maximum stopping power. This ammunition produces immediate energy dispersal into the target with reduced penetration, penetrating 5" - 7" in lab testing. Each round is exceptionally accurate and has minimal ricochet. Glaser Safety Slugs are an excellent choice for personal protection in the home where over penetration may be a concern but ballistic performance is still important.

I did some extensive ...

I did some extensive testing of these bullets because a not so bright range clerk told me these would not perform well against a heavily dressed assailant. My first test was with wood, Penetrated 2 2X4's. Next was Water Jugs, They blew up one water jug leaving the one behind it unscathed. Then clothes, these bullets shot through 2 folded pairs of jeans (about 8 layers of denim) and blew up the water jug behind it. Accuracy was as good as my target rounds in both my 5" 1911 and 3.6" Bersa thunder 45. I would and do carry these for all my self-defense applications excluding bear and large dangerous game. But only a fool would use 45ACP for anything larger than a person anyway.

I put a pineapple in ...

I put a pineapple in front of a stack of paper (which was propped up with a stick) and shot the pineapple with a Blue tipped Glazer slug. I watched the pineapple explode while not even touching the paper! After that I shot straight into the paper stack and the slug went about half way through without going out the other side! I'm very impressed! A+

I have heard some say they won't cycle in some autos which is funny because they are +P and cycled perfectly fine in my Colt officers 1911. I am only giving them a 4 because of the over pricing of this ammo. Other than that, the kick wasn't as harsh as other +P ammo and the accuracy was quite good.

This ammo cycled fine in ...

This ammo cycled fine in my full size Colt Government model 1911 with a new 15 lb recoil spring. Recoil is similar to standard 230 gr. ball. Reliable feeding and good reduced penetration round. Four stars due the high cost.
