The Hornady Custom Grade New Dimension 2-Die Set is a great die set for the avid reloader. This die set includes a Custom Grade New Dimension (CGND) Full Length Sizer Die and a CGND Seating Die. The Full Length Sizer Die features a Zip Spindle, with a series of light threads cut on the spindle and spindle collet. This eliminates spindle slippage, and makes tightening the spindle lock a breeze when making adjustments. The floating bullet alignment sleeve and stem in the CGND Seating Die improve bullet seating and accuracy by pre-aligning the bullet and case before seating. The seating die also applies a roll crimp to secure the bullet in the case. The CGND die set comes packaged in a plastic storage box, and includes two Sure-Loc rings. Shellholder is sold separately.

I typically like the Hornady New Dimension dies very much. Their elliptical expander works well with no chatter and smooth expansion of the neck, and low run out. The finish on the dies is nice, and they are very well finished in the sizing die, and the sliding seater for the seating die is usually only found on higher priced 'match' or 'benchrest' seater dies from other mfgs. Controlling the shoulder position is especially important on Ackley Improved cartridges and the shoulder is properly formed in this die, but the die itself was too long to actually set the shoulder back at all. Grinding about 1/32" to 1/16" off of the bottom of the die solved the problem, but it is a pain to do that, and some folks might not have the gear to do it quickly--like filing it--I have a powerful belt sander so no biggie for me, but another point is that some folks just don't like altering their equipment from 'factory specs'. I doesn't really bother me, but it will depend on your specific chamber if you may have this issue, so be aware of this possibility. I put one of the micrometer seater attachments on the seating die, and that works really well, but NOT in a Forster Coax press, the really tall micrometer adjustment on some dies just won't cleat the handle of the Coax.Still like these dies, just some headache issues potentially out there.

I own several sets of Hornady Custom Grade New Dimension loading dies and I find them a great value inequality and features including the sliding bullet support in the sizing die.

Have used Hornady dies ...

Have used Hornady dies since I first started reloading 10 years ago and have always gotten along well with them. I've been having some issues with consistent seating depth using the 120 grain Barnes TTSX bullets variance almost 0.01" They are still grouping around 0.56" from the bench at 100 yards plenty of accuracy for that bullet for me. Haven't had the same issues with some other bullets or weights or calibers?
