The California Competition Works Shell Caddy Tactical Shotshell Ammunition Carrier is made of glass-filled nylon. This carrier comes with two spacers - the thin one is used with U.S. made slugs, the thick one allows 2-3/4" U.S. made buckshot and birdshot. The 4 round capacity speed stripper will also hold one 20-round AR-15 magazine.

I use this product for 3gun competitions. The product comes with 2 plastic spacers to take up the slack for 2 3/4" shells. I would recommend more velcro for mounting these spacers. The one small velcro piece given allows for the plastic spacers to move around.

The steel clip is very stiff so if you have a radially thick gun belt you will have to open the clip up a bit before it just slides onto your belt.

I removed the two springs ...

I removed the two springs on the inside that keeps the shells firmly in place since it was too hard to get the shells into and out of the carrier with these installed. I will be using it in USPSA and it's more important that I can get the shells out quickly and there is very little chance they will fall out. The belt clip is also very tight and little difficult to use. I ended up buying Blade-Tech Tek-Lok attachments for $8 a piece and attached them to the back of the steel belt clip with three screws and it's much easier to attach/remove while at the same time it's staying on the belt very firmly.

Bought the shell holders ...

Bought the shell holders for three gun competitions and I have to say I'm pleased. Comes with the sleeves to adjust for different lentgh shells though if it were made for just 2-3/4 it would be fine. I've never seen any other lentgh used.

This is the default shell carrier for many of the guys I shoot 3-gun with, including myself. With the shims it is adjustable for 3" to 2-3/4" shells. It holds the shells securely enough to retain them, but not so tight as to effect reload times. Belt clip does fit a wide range of belt sizes and is quite secure. Good quality product at a reasonable price.

Excellent piece of gear. Comes with shims for different lengths of shells. Easy to quickly index and pull 3 shells for quick reload. I did turn the belt clip over so that the shells come out of the bottom, though. Still, I think they're a little pricey for what you get.

Great piece of gear. The shims that come with it let you fit any size shell. It's easy to index out three rounds for quick reloading. Much faster than either stock or receiver mounted loop-style carriers.I flipped the clip over so that the mouth faces down. So far, no fall-outs and I find it much quicker for loading.It's a little pricey, but it is well made and works like a champ.
