Bought one to transport ...

Bought one to transport my custom built F-Class TR rifle around. Just recently it went through a Dukes of Hazzard scenario. Truck sailed through the air for 60 feet, came down hard, truck a complete wreck. Everything busted or bent except the Pelican 1750 case. And my rifle's zero didn't budge one bit. This case is the proverbial "Built like a brick house". If you have a rifle that's worth protecting, do not look any further! You just found the one and only case.NOTE: when cutting the solid foam use the sharpest cutter blade you can get your hands on. Even a slightly used or dulled blade will make a mess.

I just returned from a ...

I just returned from a hunting trip to South Africa. I was very disappointed in the performance of the Pelican 1750 gun case. When the case arrived in Africa all four latches were open leaving the case partially open. I was in shock! I also used the specific cable locks for that case. All component parts along with the gun were in the case which was very good news. I again locked all four latches and sent the case on the next leg of my trip only to find 2 of the 4 latches open again. Very disappointed in this product.

Product was bought to transport firearm to/from range; not for storage. Well constructed. The foam allows weapon & mags to be secured in place. The wheels help in transportation from vehicle to firing location at the range. In my estimation this is a great case. As yet I can't think of anything that isn't great about this case.

I can put in the back of the truck and don't have to worry about my gun getting wet or smashed. We had theses when I was in the service and didn't worry about our guns when we had to move.

I just received mine in ...

I just received mine in the mail a couple of days ago. I got mine for all my optic gear. Fit's my Konus 100mm Spotting scope, Pole-Cat scope stand and Leatherwood M-1000 scope. The foam was very easy to cut out, just make sure you are using a very sharp, thin blade to make your cuts. I placed a piece of cardboard between the two bottom pieces of foam to keep my cuts from going into the bottom foam, except where I wanted it to.

This case rocks. The trick to cutting the foam is to use an electric carving knife. It works awesome. If you can't find one of those use a sharp serrated knife. Using a straight blade does not work as well. All my guns have their own Pelican case. It is heavy, but they are the best.

After spending a *bunch* ...

After spending a *bunch* on an excellent GA Precision rifle, I found that the cheap Plano GunGuard case they provided just couldn't hold its 13.8 lb heft. All I had to do was put the case down on its edge and the rifle would fall to the bottom edge of the case.Looking for something better, and having used Pelican cases for other purposes before, I ordered this case, and I'm glad I did! This is a substantial case - very strong and water resistant, with strong clasps and durable handles and wheels.The foam comes in three layers, one for each half of the case and a center one which you need to cut out for your rifle and accessories. They provide instructions for how to cut the foam, and despite all the horror stories you hear about ugly foam cutting, mine came out very nice, just by doing it the way they instruct.Everything stays put, exactly where you put it and is exceptionally well protected against shock, vibration and impact. When you have a multi-thousand dollar firearm, $200 is cheap insurance to protect it when you transport it.

Absolutely worth the money, do not settle for lower quality imported cases. Such heavy duty construction, you'd say there was a firearm in the case if you didn't know better. Solid look and feel, no BS at all about this product. I doubt I'll ever need another vessel to carry my guns. Best part of it is that it's American made ;)

Solid performer-- case ...

Solid performer-- case you can trust to travel with those $ rifles. Center foam cutting hint: Cover the top of foam with blue painters tape then layout using a thin sharpie to mark outline of weapon/scope perimeter [about 1/8" undersize] and use a sharp single edge razor to cut a starting slot for the electric knife. Go slow and keep it held vertically and you will have a professional layout to secure your weapon and accessories (like spare mags & cleaning rod). Note: Suggest laying right-handed bolt weapon left side down and securing bolt out of weapon-- EASY to visually verify weapon is unloaded WITHOUT anyone having to actually handle the rifle, making this ideal setup while traveling (TSA, customs, etc.).
