Simply put this is an ...

Simply put this is an excellent spotting scope. The light gathering is great and optics are very clear - colors are stunning. I not only use it for shooting but also bird watching and looking at the moon with my family. For daylight use, the 80mm objective will suffice. If you want to use it in low light situations the 100mm lens is outstanding.I highly recommend it. For the price you will not find anything better and a lot of the very expensive scopes are no better.

Big letdown. Sickening ...

Big letdown. Sickening rubber smell when I opened the box. Large dust particle on inside of eyepiece. Finger print on inside of objective lens. Glass looks like high quality but assembly was sloppy. Could have been a winner if not for the dirt on the optics. I value this scope at half of what I paid for it and that is with the 100mm lens. Case actually seems adequate but needs padding. I'm returning the scope.

I wanted to review this scope. It is excellent, I boughtone and 2 of my buddies looked thru mine and wantedone also. So I know 4 people who own these scopes,they are excellent for the money. One of the buddiesowns a high price Bushnell and another has a Leupold they both said hands down, they would keep this scope and sell the other, if they had to. I am impressedto say the least. I look at targets, animals, and thebeautiful scenery here in Idaho with mine. I would nottrade mine for anything. I actually took a picture of aground squirrel here by my house, the distance wasmeasured with a Bushnell 1500 yd laser range finder.The actual distance read 1,100 yds., you can see theground squirrel on his mound, just unbelievable! Yes,you can say I am sold on this scope for the money!No scope that I have looked thru, that is within a 200.00 price increase is any better than this scope.You can certainly buy with confidence!

I concur with the other reviews. This is excellent glass especially for the price. It comes with a nice carrying bag. It is a big mamba jamba though. I found the Burris window-mount to be a suitable "tripod" (not really a tripod) for bench shooting. Just find something to clamp the mount to and it holds this scope just fine without having to spend on a high dollar tripod (considering the size of this scope.)

The optics are clear and bright edge to edge in very low light.The first time I had the scope outside was just after sunset and at 300 yards I was counting pine needles in the tree line behind the house. Just be forewarned this baby is BIG. I pulled out my tripod from my 35mm days and it just about handled the load. You do get for what you have paid, big, bright optics and a big scope.

This unit really gathers the light which at my range is very helpful. If your shooting bench is covered or enclosed it really helps! It's kind of large compared to what you see most others using so make sure you have a good tripod or mounting system. Objective is very tight and takes time to move but I'd rather it be too tight than too loose. When others look through it they like it a lot!

Great scope. Have used it out to 600yds spotting for match practice. Nice soft case with scope cover inside.You'll need a heavy tripod to support this scope. Few small drawbacks... I hate screwing the eyepiece on every time I use it, and the lens cover does not stay on the objective lens.Small drawbacks do not change my opinion- best scope for the money.

Everything all the other reviewers said is true. Great Spotting Scope and you will not be sorry with the purchase if you do get one. I bought it because of the 100mm objective for more light gathering, and the twilight factor that your really can see more in the lower light of sunset. You will get a bit more mirage when looking through it but you can learn to overlook that. The eyepiece is changeable, thats a plus, the focus really does focus and is a clear picture. You do need a more then the average tri-pod for this spotting scope so dont skimp on the quality or the price of the tripod, this is a large, and heavy scope and you do not want to see it go crashing to the ground/concrete. Which brings me to the part of the scope that may be a little on the down side, it is large, it is bulky and it is heavy, but it is great. I wouldnt get rid of mine for anything.

The best spotting scope ...

The best spotting scope for the money period! I can see .223 holes in the black at 200 yards and .308 holes at 300 yards. Even some of the high dollar scopes on the line can't see the holes. Everyone comes down to my Konus to see their bulle holes that they can't see thru their scopes that cost $300 more. Camera adapter attachment takes great photos too. Just be sure to use a cable shutter release so yo don't move the camera, or use a high shutter speed. Enough said. Get the padded cover for it from Champions Choice.

I couldn't be happier with this scope. It is "big" but it out performs all the other guys scopes on the firing line (and they all paid alot more). I'm a smallbore shooter that shoots high power on the weekends I don't have a smallbore match and this scope works great for seeing a .22 caliber hole in the black at 200 yards and .223 out to 300 yards too. I would not hesitate to recommend the Konus 100 to anyone. A great product, Thanks.
