I looked at many slings for my M1A National Match, and kept coming back to this one. I am glad I bought it because the leather is of superior quality and it looks great. The sling was easy to "soften up" and use as a shooting sling and not just for putting the rifle over you shoulder. If you want an excellent usable sling, this is the one to buy

bought my 1st one a few months back. this sling is dyanmite! worked the leather w/ baseball glove oil to break it in and darken the leather. this sling is strong, sturdy, and well crafted. i liked it so much, i bought 2 more to replace slings on oter hunting rifles.

this is the best sling i have purcheased for any of my rifles. the leather is thick, stiching is very strong, as are the keepers, and it looks absolutely beautiful. the leather is quite a bit light tan, but it darkened up nicely w/ basball glove oil (as they guy above had said.) this is a "best buy" for slings.

I prefer military slings and use the Turner on my Ruger M77 .270. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, which is act as a shooting aid, something no padded sling can do. It is heavily constructed and does take some breaking in, but should last a long time with proper care.

I just got three of these for my M1 Garands. I agree with one post "It's the best sling in my gun safe". I disagree with another post about the Neatsfoot Oil. I got a pint and poured it in a dish. Then I ran the slings through for a good soaking. This turned the leather to a dark brown and now it is as limber as a nylon sling. This thick leather and even better hardware is the reason why I got three instead of one. Now have three more guns that need this sling attached. Every long rifle I buy will get one of these.

First, I like leather over nylon, just me, that's all. The leather on this is some of the best I've see. I do leatherwork as a hobby and sideline money maker so I see a lot of hides, mostly sides. The color is good, it is a thick leather but not so much you can't work with it. I don't think I'd put Neatsfoot oil on it though. There are other dressings that you can get that protect the leather, don't discolor it and makes it a little more pliable, but not as pliable as Neatsfoot. This leather will work in to how YOU use it in time. Don't try to rush it. Turner is a mom and pop manufacturer and they HAVE to keep quality at the very best. Also, this leather may not fit the sling loops that are "off the rack" here. Be sure you get Mil-Spec. Otherwise, the hooks at the end of the sling may not pass through. Turner offers this sling two ways. The plain and the Carlos Hathcock signation model. I don't think this is the signature sling. Also, be sure you have the right measurement for the sling. This leather will stretch ever so slightly but you don't want the sling so tight there is not "lettin' out" room.

They only use top quality materials in every sling the make, (I own three of them)Turner products blow the competion away and in my opinion are without a doubt the best slings you will find anywhere in the world!

Good strong leather and ...

Good strong leather and hardware. The leather is stiff and needs to be oiled and worked. Once that is done, the light color disappears, the sling slides appropriately, and it works fine for high power and hunting applications.

I have bought more inexpensive slings and have not been happy. This sling is well constructed and of real good quality. Fit is great, and will not stretch minimizing breakin period. I am considering buying another and will definitly get a Turner. It should last a long time.

The sling is excellent and enhances my M-14's accuracy. It's well made and built to last a lifetime. However it's too blond in color. The sling calls attention to itself. Turner needs to stain them a more saddle brown. Other than that, it's perfect.
