I tested a wide range of subsonic and target ammo in a custom Ruger 10/22 with a suppressor (muzzle can), including expensive European brands. This load was my pick. It's consistent, cycles the action reliably, is very quiet, and is accurate in my rifle. I found it nearly as accurate as Eley, but at a much lower cost.

I purchased this ...

I purchased this ammunition specifically to use in my SUPPRESSED RUGER MkIII handgun. The pressure was too low to reliably cycle the action, and the handgun malfunctions repeatedly with failures to eject being most common and failure to feed being second malfunction experienced....when it actually does eject.The rounds shoot well and definitely are quiet (one of quietest I have found)...if I wanted a single shot instead of a semi-auto. I have a suppressed rifle on the way and will try them in it to see if they build enough pressure to cycle the rifle action due to longer barrel/suppressor...but I seriously doubt that will be the case.For a bolt action, single shot, or lever gun....GO FOR IT! For a semi-auto....forget it.

Used on a Ruger 10/22 with 18.5 inch standard contour threaded barrel and suppressor. This is the most quiet subsonic round I have used in this combo yet.
A) Fairly clean even with Suppressor blowback residue.
B) Bullet weight (38gr) is very stable in regular 1:16 twist barrel.
C) Excellent accuracy. *all 10 shots under a dime @50yds.
D) Good Expansion and weight retention for hollowpoint design.

Only neg comment would be the Smell of primer ignition, definitely very strong and persistent.ie; Stalking Woods no wind, or in confined areas with weak ventilation (in door ranges)
*I have not yet tried the 60gr Subsonic as it was recommended to be used in a faster twist barrel. I found this particular round to be an excellent comprimise for heavy accurate bullet and sound reduction.

This is some great ammo! I have tried many different types of target and standard velocity ammo in my CZ 452 Trainer and the Aguila Subsonic 38 Grain Lead Hollow Pointgroups the best of all of them at 50 yards. Between 1/2"-3/4" . As others have said very consistent. No pops or squib rounds. Feeds well and no misfires. Very quiet compared to hi velocity ammo. Almost like a pellet rifle. As others have also said it has that Eley primer smell. That doesnt bother me. It burns clean and doesn't seem to foul the bore enough where accuracy falls off. I'm looking forward to trying it out on some cottontails this season. I tried some of this ammo in one of my 22 revolvers the other day and it shot real well! Better than any of the high velocity stuff that I had been shooting in it before. After shooting this ammo in my 22 rifles and handguns I have formed the opinion that the high velocity ammo I was shooting is overkill. It is obnoxiously loud and for the most part, not as accurate. This ammo will do anything I would want to do within the range of a 22lr for me. Punch paper at 50 yards or small game, rabbit and under, out to 75 yards. It's great plinking ammo too.

Love this ammo. Very accurate and works good on squirrel. I have use it in 10/22 Rugers, Winchester 22 wildcat bolt action and Smith & Wesson mp15 with 22 conversion kit in it. I have never had a problem with it not feeding. Also use it in marlin 22 lever action rifle and Smith & Wesson 22a pistol. Like I said never had a problem with it not feeding. Best 22 round ever used.

Quiet and accurate, plenty of energy for large tree rats that terrorize my bird feeders. May not hit as hard as the CCI or Winchesters I have shot but still does a good job w/o bothering others nearby. Good product, good price try some you'll like them.

I used this in my supressed 10/22 with factory magazines. The first 20 or so rounds ran great. The rest of the 50 not so great. I had 8 short cycles. Those rounds didn't have enough pressure to get the bolt back far enough to pick up another round and one of them didn't even extract the brass. Not only is this a problem for cycling in semiautos, but it would lead to some big groups with a bolt. I have 100 more rounds of it left to shoot. Maybe the first box was a fluke.

This ammo cycles my 10/22's just fine and it's accuracy leaves nothing to be desired when used for hunting small game. I read a review that complained about the smell. If you ever shot competition you would recognize that smell. I believe it's the Eley primer. Eley 10x smells the same way. The CCI subsonic may have a slight edge but I'd use either any day.

I purchased this ammo to compare it to CCI subsonic ammo. This ammo shoots well and is accurate. It cycles my 10/22 with no problems at all. No feed or extraction issues. It is not as good as CCI but close. I gave it 3 stars due to the powder burn/acrid smell. After shooting the burned powder leaves a horrible smell unlike normal gun powder found in other LR bullets. The smoke made my eyes water even as I was shooting outside at my ranch. I rapid fired a few rounds and the fumes/smoke made me choke. It does it in every 22 I fired it out of. So its not my weapon its the propellant.

This ammo doesn't cycle the bolt in my Remington 597. This ammo might work good in a bolt action 22, but I give this product 1 star because it is absolutely terrible for my semi-auto.

I just finished testing Aguila Super Extra in a benchrest single shot rifle, Lilja barrel, 3" wide Edge stock, 10.5 lbs. The 38gr ammo does not shoot well in this rifle - .75" groups when other ammo shoots in the .2-.3" range at 50 yds.
