Aguila Match Pistol ammunition was specifically designed to be used in pistols and is loaded with a special blend of powder to produce the optimum burn rate. This ammunition is new-production and non-corrosive and is recommended for use in bolt action rifles. Available in 50, 500, or 5000 count boxes.

I bought a brick of this ammo to try in my Pardini SP that I use in bullseye competitions. I first tested it for accuracy potential by mounting a 4x scope on my pistol and shooting it benched at a distance of 40 yds. It printed a ten shop group of 1 inch, which is as good as the best of any other target ammo I've checked. I haven't used it much as I have quite a bit of other brands on hand that I'm trying to use up. It cycles through my gun fine too. It costs about one-half the price of other target ammo. What can you say!

I purchased a fair ...

I purchased a fair quantity of this ammo because of the favorable reviews, and because my preferred Federal Auto Match is almost impossible to find at this time. I tried it in three firearms: a new Walther P22, a High Standard H-D, and a Smith & Wesson K22 revolver.There is so much gunk on the case that it was VERY difficult to force the rounds into the K22's cylinder; I did not proceed with that gun.In the High Standard, a gun that had been flawless for decades, there was a 40% failure to fire, and some ejection problems.In the Walter? An absolute nightmare. About a 90% failure rate, encompassing everything imaginable (feed, fire, and extract problems).To top it all, the rounds give off a relatively unpleasant smell.

I have found Aguila ...

I have found Aguila Pistol Match ammo perfectly suitable for Match use. Now, it does appear to be a little sensitive to the gun in which it is being used. A buddy of mine got me started on it, as it would not feed or reliably fire in his S&W 41. I have shot it in a High Standard Citation well enough to win a state championship (in my class) and in a Victor to make the USA/NRA International Team at Perry. I do not think that I have had a misfire with solid hit in the 5 or so cases I have shot. The Eley priming system seems to work well. I have shot it in clubs with great and not so great ventilation, and have found no strange or objectionable odors. I do shoot about 50/50 with CCI 0035 and really can't tell them apart by my performance. It works just fine for me.

Bought a brick and have ...

Bought a brick and have had good results. Shoot them through a stock 10/22 and they are perfect on ground squirrels out to 40 yards with perfect consistency. Rounds go through the critters cleanly. Beyond that range things get less predictable keeping in mind I shoot off stumps and logs and such and have a .22 Bushnell Banner scope on the gun. The ammo is a bit dirty and has after 200 rounds or so stuck the firing pin enough to cause FTF. I'm buying some more Aguila with higher velocity to reach out a little further. Love the relative quite sound this stuff has through a rifle. Neighbors haven't complained and the squirrels haven't become gun shy.

The accuracy of this ...

The accuracy of this ammunition falls off rapidly once the barrel heats up. I shoot 50m free pistol, and after 20-30 shots, the ammo stops ejecting properly. On a hot day, after 20 shots, it becomes difficult to hit the target, even with the pistol bench-rested.

Although the price is ...

Although the price is good and the accuracy is great from my Ruger Mk III, this stuff is really dirty. Starting with a clean pistol, it starts having feeding and ejection problems after less than 100 rounds. A lot of unburned powder ends up in the action, which can be hard to clean out. But it is still superbly accurate.

Good pistol ammo at a reasonable price. Of course, even match ammo tends to work best in some guns and not in others. My Beretta Neos seems to like Aguila more than my Ruger Mark II.

Put 25 5 shot groups ...

Put 25 5 shot groups through Ruger 10/22 Lothar barrel and through Anschutz 54 Lilja barrel. Both averaged .5 at 50 yards 125 rounds. Measured rim thickness is the only flaw. Price to accuracy is definitely a 5 star

for match ammunition, it is fairly accurate, but as others have suggested, very dirty. My Hammerli 208 doesn't like it -- failures to eject and occasional failure to fire, although a second strike usually is successful.I have better luck with Aguila standard velocity -- marginally cleaner and no failure issues.
