I recently purchased the Pacesetter set with a Lee Single stage press (Product #: 807734). I wasn't sure if it would be what I needed since I am just getting into the reloading hobby. After reloading about 20 rounds with this set and the press, I am sold. I am now looking to get a few more die sets for other various calibers I have as well. Also Shipping was amazingly fast! These are the first Lee dies I bought. They were inexpensive and did the job well and I would recommend them. I normally use RCBS that I still prefer. It appears to me that the decapping pin on the Lee resizing die cannot be separated from the decapping rod that contains the sizing ball (the combined unit is Lee part SE2163). In the past, I've had to pull bullets and resize primed cases. This was easily possible with the RCBS dies because the decapping pin could be removed from the decapping rod. It looks like it would be impossible to fully resize the neck without knocking out the primer with the Lee dies. These dies also contain some rubber O-rings and the part containing the bullet seater seems to be lightweight (aluminum?). The dies did the job though and you can't beat the price, especially considering the accessories. The shellholder, powder scoop and loading data were all helpful and saved even more money.

These are really incredible. I got a brass cartridge REALLY stuck in the FL Sizer. Ended up using a cheap drill bit to grind out the old brass. Die works great again and NO TOOL MARKS inside the die from the drill bit. Fantastic quality.

I have not had a problem with this die set yet. I have put about 400 rounds through them. I might get a different locking ring but then again that might make you feel a little too safe and not check you OAL.

Excellent Dies! The ...

Excellent Dies! The decapping pin on the resizing die is held in by a collet. It really is unbreakable. IF you put enough pressure on it to break it (nearly impossible) it just slides up in the collet. The decapping pin is removable. Stuck cases are easily removed by pounding on the decapping pin with a hammer and punch. The bullet seating die works like a charm and consistently seats bullets to the same depth if your cases are the same length. The factory crimp die is very helpful if you have a lever action with a tubular magazine. The crimp is very neat, and very strong. Great value, just as good as others that cost 5 times as much.

I had only $30 to spare for reloading dies after buying a Lyman Turret Press so I bought the Lee Dies. These things give great value. Free shell holder and a factory crimp die included! And the rounds formed match factory performance - 1" at 100yds out of my Winchester rifle. I admire Lee for their pricing scheme. Best value in dies anywhere!

Like most Lee products, functioned perfectly right out of the box. I did have to hone out the bullet seating die to accommodate the Meister 30-30 lead bullets I ordered. The Lee seating die was grabbing the bullet and pulling them out of the case, not pushing them in. Honing out the crimp ring fixed the problem, and since I use a Lee crimp die for crimping, I didn't lose anything by doing it.

You can pay (lots) more, but Lee dies are the best value in reloading, bar none. I use their rifle dies for 3 calibers, and all my ammo shoots far better than factory. This product gets 5 stars for one reason-it works, and excellently at that!

I am fairly new to reloading metallic cartridges, after having relaoded shot shells for a number of years. When I wanted to try I decided to give Lee products a shot since they are cheap compared to everything else. I reload pistol and just bought this Pacesetter die-set for 30-30 as my first rifle die set. It is a great product and paid for itself in the first 100 reloads. The factory crimp die is awesome.As of now, I have yet to find a problem with any Lee product that would convince me to spend more on another brand name. They are simple to work with and produce great ammo. Why use anything else?
