Just used the tool to remove the military crimps from a bunch of LC, WCC, and PMC 5.56 brass. This reamer works very well, it has 4 very sharp flutes and only needs 5 or 6 twists with medium pressure to do the job. Great tools don't have to cost losts of $$$.

Maybe I just got a lemon, but I'm not having much luck getting a complete removal of the crimp from Federal brass. I have tried by hand, and with it chucked in a cordless drill. Used it true to axis, and tried rocking it to various angles without any reliable success. Also tried it in tandem with a pocket uniformer and still not impressed. Growing up I recall using a swaging method to remove the crimp and not experiencing any of the difficulties this tool is causing. This is the first reloading tool I've owned that simply did not perform as it should.

Forget all other Primer ...

Forget all other Primer Pocket Reamers. I could not get primers to seat properly in the cases I had after firing my AE cartridges. They were crimped. No reamer could properly re-shape the pocket - except this one. Perfect primer seating in every case. It also fits in various other handles I already have.

With a drill press or cordless drill you can easily trim ~1500 in an hour. Once you get the hang of it you can get very consistent results. The only thing I have an issue with is the cutter head seems to be getting slightly dull. So far it still cuts fine but it is visibly duller than when I first bought it. Overall it's a huge time saver and a great value even if it does need to replaced or sharpened every 10,000 cases or so.

I have both the large and small versions of this tool and they work great. Much better than the Lyman reamers I own. I use these in my RCBS Trim Mate and they make quick work of removing primer crimps. Beware though that they do cut very fast. It's easy to go too far if you aren't careful. If and when these get dull I will replace them with the same product. It's nice that Hornady sells the head only so you don't always have to buy the complete tool.

Works well, but like another reviewer stated don't use it too long or go too deep otherwise you will remove too much material and your primers won't stay seated firmly. I chuck it in my cordless drill and do a quick spin for a second or so in each one. Makes going through military brass crimps a breeze. One other thing to note, I found that I also have to use a primer pocket uniformer after this tool to even out the primer pockets. Before doing so I had a hard time seating some primers. I use the Possum hollow tool (see my review). Just an FYI. Happy and safe reloading!

Installed this little fella in my RCBS prep center and threw 1000+ pieces of LC brass at it. Worked absolutely perfect removing the crimp while applying a small bevel to the primer pocket. Highly recommended.

Easily the best tool out there for taking the primer crimp out of military 223 brass. Installed it in an RCBS handle, apparently the thread setup is universal. Have bought several, they wear well but this is on my "CAN'T RELOAD WITHOUT IT" list.
