Easy to install and really smooths out the trigger pull on my M1911A1. Only time will tell how well this lighter spring holds up to regular use.

I have a late model Mil-Spec Springfield 1911 with ILS (Also has a Kimber .22 upper). After disassembling of the pistol I noted that the mainspring was considerably shorter that the Ed Brown spring. After doing some research on mainspring housings I determined that I could shorten the Ed Brown spring and still have the 18 lb spring that I desired. I measured and cut the spring to length and installed. It worked flawlessly.

Excellent product, it helped lowering the trigger pull weight a bit. I'm using this spring, mainly because I shoot the Kimber .22 conversion a lot, and lowering the hammer spring lets me shoot variety of .22 ammo without having to worry about cycling issues. It still reliably ignites the regular .45 ACP rounds. The best part is, it comes in a 5 pack, so if you have multiple 1911s, it's an excellent deal.

The springs are great!!! Finally all my 1911's have the same mainspring weight. Just installing it lowered the trigger pull by 2 pounds easily.

Just a word of warning. This spring does not fit late model Springfield 1911A1s which all have the ILS locking system in the Mainspring Housing. You will need to change the housing first if you want to use this spring.

Just installed one on my Springfield Armory mil-spec with ILS locking system on mainspring. Stock 23 lb mainspring (which was also trimmed) was shorter than these are so I had to trim it to stock length. I installed it with the trimmed end down as was done stock. Trigger pull is great now and I can much more easily cock the hammer with one hand.
