ProMag magazine bodies are constructed of high carbon heat-treated steel and TIG-welded for strength. The springs are precision wound using heat-treated chrome silicon wire. Bases and followers are injection molded from polymers selected for their durability. The result is quality, consistency, durability and reliability.

Ok, but not super. Locks ...

Ok, but not super. Locks bolt to the rear like it's supposed to, but a tight fit in the AR mag well. Doesn't fall out when the mag release button is pushed, so rapid reloads are out of the question. Haven't had any malfunctions.

Bought these against the ...

Bought these against the adamant advice of my armorer friend... should have listened. Neither mag will lock the bolt open after the last round is expended (or even if an empty mag is slapped into the weapon), neither will eject without significant force, and most importantly they've caused constant feed malfunctions in what is a proven rock-reliable AR-15. One malfunction was so bad it couldn't be cleared at the range and required the rifle to be disassembled with special tools.

Product simply did not work. The holes were cut wrong and it would not lock into the magwell. One of these days I'll get around to sending it back.

This magazine was not ...

This magazine was not functional. I took it apart to see if I could detect the problem, but didn't notice anything obvious that would stop the feeding of ammo. Maybe this was just a rare case, but in this case the follower jammed virtually every time it was loaded with ammo.

Very nice mag. slides in ...

Very nice mag. slides in and out of my RRA lower flawlessly. Bolt locks back every time when mag is empty. The only bad thing is it's really just an 18 round. If you load it with 20rds, the ammo crashes into the front of the mag on the first and second round because the spring has so much tension on it.

Feels just like a Colt ...

Feels just like a Colt G.I. mag. Works great, just the same problems as the Colt mag. It can hold 20 rounds but works much better if you only load 15 rounds, just ask any vet.

Nicely made and doesn't look or feel cheap. 18 rounds works better than 20. 20 or 19 rounds will not feed well.

While the mag bodies are ...

While the mag bodies are steel and well made and blued, the Follower has a bad habit of 'diving' causing mis-feeds. These DO NOT have anti-dive followers. I can't recommend, as I experienced continuous mis-feeds from the start.
