Product Information

These front sight towers feature a round hooded front sight guard for fast and accurate sighting. Made from steel and given a mil-spec phosphate coating, these sights will hold up in the most demanding conditions. The sight will accept all standard AR-15 front sight posts and hardware (included) and flips down easily with the push of a button for optic use. The two peice design of the gas block is easily installed using the four screws.

Great sight

Mounted on my S&W MP15 on new stoner barrel. Very slight gap on both sides of where the top screws into the bottom of the sight. Still no problem. Very sturdy and quick sight alignment. Had a little trouble getting gas tube into hole of sight. I had to tap it in with a hammer. I'd recommend lubing before inserting gas tube. I put the gas tube in and inserted into upper before mounting on the barrel, this helped me to get the straightest alignment.

I changed an A2 Eagle/Armalite upper to an A4 configuration. Since I wanted swing down sights to go along with an EOTech sight that I had plans to purchase, and due to the fact that I thought that the round hood configuration would complement the YHM rear peep sight, I bought this one. I chose right! Both sights are pin lock up with detente in the down position and they work perfectly together. Target acquisition is quick as the height of both are exactly where they should be in relation to the stock and the concentric shape of the front sight hood is really conducive to quick alignment with the rear sight, much better than the old "V" configuration. One hint, if you are installing quad rails (screw together assembly) and since this is a clamp on gas block, you may want to line up the front sight by taking the rifle out and actually shooting it before you finally install the hand rails. That barrel will not get that hot from the needed amount of rounds and this procedure will allow you to get perfect positioning on the front sight without having to decide later to disassemble quad rails. Now, I am sitting here wondering if spending $400 to $500 on an EOTech sight will really help me on this particular rifle with these sights. Since they both fold down and out of the way, I am now thinking that I will just put the scope back on with a quick detach mount.

This is a good kit. The flip-up front sight is robust and accurate. The Picatinny rail on the bottom allows me to mount a small laser under the barrel and makes it easy to switch optics (flip-up sights, red dot or scope) on top. I'm sighted in without having to fire a shot. The one nitpick I have is the gas tube roll pin hole was off on one of the three I purchased. I had to drill the hole bigger on one side to get the pin in. I should have sent it back. But, I'm too stubborn to admit defeat and it works just fine. One other positive: you can rotate the front sight to line up perfectly with the rear sight.
