I just bought another jar ...

I just bought another jar of this grease. It seems KG heard our previous reviews regarding the how messy it is and the need to stir it and improved the formulation. The newer jar I just received is very smooth and consistent with no molybdenum disulfide and oil seperation. It is now what you would expect a grease to look like.

I purchased this after ...

I purchased this after reading the reviews of others. So, I was expecting a messy product. With that in mind, the performance of the grease is great! I put a very thin layer on the Bolt Carrier (and components) and the inside of the receiver on my S&W MP15 16" 5.56NATO (which has a buffer spring that is worn and needs replacing). After approximately 4 magazines the oil/grease was not enough to absorb fouling from the gas tube. I have read that molybdenum is one of the finest solid lubricants available, especially for high temperature needs. The molybdenum created like a layer or "skin" if you will. This "skin" resisted dirt and fouling and was excellent at minimizing friction. My rifle would have a cycling malfunction about every 40 - 50 rounds due to the worn spring. However, the lubricity was so potent that it has been smooth despite the worn spring. I think this is a great lubricant. However, like the others said...prepare to get messy.

I agree, this stuff is a ...

I agree, this stuff is a mess. It says it is a grease but I opened it and liquid spilled out all over the place. I tried stirring it and it was even messier so I gave up and went with a competitors brand which really is a grease so requires no stirring and is very good. I do not recommend this.

I too found that this grease was not very thick at first. I then realized that all it needed was a stir to get the molly back into solution with the oil base. Once stirred, it took on the consistency of something a bit thicker than anti-seize compound. It works well. Smooth enough to get into small places, yet thick enough that it doesn't run out. Like other KG products I've used, this one is very good.

By far the messiest firearms product that I've ever worked with. I hope that its half as good at lubricating as it is at staining.
