The RCBS Turret Press features a rugged cast iron frame, toggle block and turret head. The six-station turret head allows many combinations in the mounting sequence of dies and powder measure and even permits two or more calibers to be set up at the same time. Turret head held in place by one bolt for quick, easy changeovers. Turret pin and ball handle assembly can be positioned for right or left-hand use. Primer plugs and sleeves are supplied for seating large and small primers. Dies and shellholder sold separately.

I just read one review that sounded like the press had issues. Perhaps his did - mine hasn't. I thought the primer system was rather good. It has a collector to the right which has never failed to catch the ejected primer and two sets of primer tubes for different sized primers. One tube in the set is used to pick-up the primers, the other as a guide tube which fits inside the larger black (feed) tube. Fill one - invert - pull pin - drop primers in the other. Along with the primer tube sizes, the primer inserter mechanism (the thing that mounts to the left front) also has two sizes on the little holder that moves under the casing. If you use miss-match parts they will flip over as he described. What I mean is if you use small primers in the large tube - they may flip upside down when you transfer from the pickup tube to the feed tube. If you leave the factory installed small cup (primer catcher) on the primer inserter mechanism the primers won't sit well and will tend to tip or twist. Setting primers is as easy as 1) loading the pick-up tube 2) transferring to the feed tube 3) pull the black knob out (picks up a primer) 4) push the black knob back into the slot under the ram's shaft 5) lower ram (seat primer). I had no trouble mounting mine. I don't know what his problems were. The press is fine. Of course, I did read the instructions RCBS provided with my press.

RCBS makes good stuff, but I had some problems with this press. There seemed to be friction somewhere in the ram. I greased all contact points with no luck. The priming system left the primers high, so I went with a hand priming device (also RCBS, and am happy with the hand priming device, more control). The turret head would move when the ram was at its highest point (play in the turret head) which I think is the Achilles heel of this press. The spent primer catch is a joke, and doesn't catch all the primers all the time. I sold the press, so I was happy. I bought the Redding T-7 (and had money to spare from the sale for dies) and it is built twice as strong (not that you would need that) with no play on the turret head and the Redding ram works way better. Try the Redding T-7 and see if I am a liar.

RCBS has struck out on this one, sadly. Flimsy. Dies sometimes won't clear the cut-out in the frame when turret is rotated. The primer system doesn't work, and is dangerous. Primers are just losely stacked in the safety tube and won't feed into the primer holder. The primer insertion arm system binds up and there is a real possiblity of a crushed/detonated primer. I returned this to Midway. RCBS just isn't want it used to be.

Follow up after almost 2 months of use.I'm amazed at the quality of the ammo and ease of use so far.I'm reloading 30.06,30.30,9mm,38 sp and .45ACP on this press and I can't say anything bad about the press at all.I'm considering anther to replace anther (red) turret so I can have a separate set up for my magnum rounds.Again,great job RCBS!!!

Just got this press Saturday and finally got the chance to set it up today.Mounted it on my bench and set my 30.06 dies up and started re loading.Not 1 single problem or issue so far.I made 20 rounds of 168 gr Nosler BTHP in 3 different charges with Varget.They look great and chamber in my M77 Ruger just fine.Will hit the range tomorrow and see how they perform.Great press in my opinion.Thank you RCBS.

I have had several Turret ...

I have had several Turret presses. This is the best by far. I am a commercial loader and use this press for special or high end orders for hunters and target shooting buffs. If it has to be right this press is the one I love the most. I have had no issues with any operation of any parts and the primer feeder is sweet. The turrets are built heavy but are not over sized. I teach a class two days a week on basic and serious loading for people who want to learn hands on. This press can be set up for left or right handed people. RCBS, you folks nailed it on this press.

I have had one of these ...

I have had one of these for about 6 years and reloaded a lot of rounds on it. (Over 10,000 30-30s and 45-70s, along with numerous 44 magnums and specials, 45 acps and long colts). I have some issues with it. The priming system stinks. At least one round in 40 ends up with a primer seated upside down. I have broken decapping pins when I forgot and attempted to rotate the sizer die all the way around. And until I improvised a replacement deflector, spent primers ended up strewn about the floor. I use a hand primer, and I typically only use 4 stations these days, but this is not one of RCBS's shining examples of product superiority.

The press is solid and ...

The press is solid and has a good quality feel to it but RCBS accessories dont work well with it. Your depriming rod on your RCBS sizing die will not have clearance on the back side of the turret when adjusted properly. I banged it once by accident and damaged my brand new die. Either unscrew it half way out or dont plan on making a full circle with the turret. The RCBS uniflow powder measure scrapes the primer safety tube (the black rod on the left in the picture). Either deal with it gouging into the side of the plastic on the powder measure or you cant reload in progressive mode with it attached. I use all RCBS components and they are not integrating well at all. You also can not adjust the primer seating depth with this press.

This is a great turret ...

This is a great turret press. Just another high quality product from RCBS. I bought it because my antique Lyman turret press simply needed replaced due to free play. Other than a caliper and deburring tool this is the only RCBS product I own. I would've purchased a LEE press but I decided to play it safe and get something that I knew would be of good quality and the priming action looked bulletproof. So far I've only loaded about 100 rounds with it but I'm very happy with it. The primer tubes are a little bent but it didn't cause any problem. One primer will seem to always be stuck at the "pickup" end of the tube which is a little problem. I'm a little scared of pushing on the inside of primers with anything other than the next primer. However this may change with use so I cant say it's bad yet. Other than that the priming action works flawlessly unlike my old Lyman. If your looking for a good turret press I'd say buy one...although I have little to compare to.

I shoot action pistol in a couple of calibers, which is why I went with the Turret over a progressive or Dillon SDB. A turret gives you the most possible flexibility in reloading, and with the number of stations on the RCBS, you can run pretty much any feature you want, which gives you a lot more options over the 4 hole Lee. All of these reloading companies build excellent products that the vast majority of people won't ever wear out.

I have used three different brand reloading machines and have experience reloading. This machine is sturdy. It indexes very well with the option to move the loading handle which I like. I only rated it three stars because of a few things I expected better of RCBS. First the primer tubes in my kit were full of metal burrs and shavings keeping the primers from falling. Second, the primer catcher is not well thought out. In loading 20 rounds I found one spent primer in the catcher! Very poor design. Primer seating was positive with little effort to seat.
