This is the BEST cleaning agent I have ever used. Run 2 wet patches thru the bore, let it set for 10 minutes, un a wet nylon brush thru the bore 10 times, then 2 dry patches, then another wet one, then dry the bore and oil it. If you have copper fouling, wet the bore and let it set for an hour, then continue cleaning. The bore will be clean.

This stuff is outstanding. It's not a very thick gel and can be used in those little squirt bottles to make it easier to get just the right amount on a patch. No odor at all that I can detect, and it removes copper better than the Butch's bore shine that was my favorite until now.

I know, I know, two ratings. But, I assure you, new shooters looking for a good solvent will appreciate this one. I have been using this stuff for almost a year now, and, quite simply put-its the best stuff out there. Buy this, don't waste your time with anything else. If you use a brush holy smokes this stuff works-and it does so without the odor or skin damage normally associated with bore cleaners. It dissolves lead and copper and carbon as if they were water color paints. Copper will come out as a yellowish slime, whereas lead comes out a thick gray/black. One pass through with a brush is all it takes to remove LOADS of fouling from your bore.It's my all time favorite cleaner. I guarantee you'll love this stuff. Lastly, if you are a rimfire shooter, your should definitely buy this instead of other solvents. This very gentle, yet deep cleaning solvent is perfect for rimfire bores. My targets can attest to that.

The Elite gel does a fine job on the carbon residue ... especially in the tight bore of the .204 Ruger. But, I just don't see it doing much with the copper residue?

I like it, friend bought ...

I like it, friend bought it from here. Takes a little while, might have something to do with me not brushing like the directions say, but aside from that it worked well. First two patches reveal nothing after about 3hrs of sitting and soaking, then on the third it seems like you bore is coated in glue, basically it turns the fouling, lead and all into a slime. Then after a night of secondary soaking I pulled another couple patches through and copper in its original color and form comes out in sheets.Pretty good stuff if your patient. Smells nIce as well. it was a rimfire rifle

Outstanding performance without the odor. Apply, let it sit and run some patches. Some scrubbing may be necessary if it's a bunch of copper or lead. It does seem to 'condition' as advertised so the next cleanup is easier.

I liked this product so much I am switching over to all the Hoppes Elite line of products. It works just as well as the super harsh cleaners like sweets IF you let it sit in the barrel for 5 minutes The HUGE plus for us apartment dwellers is that is has zero smell. I mean ZERO smell. What an enormous plus. For that plus the five minute wait is a small price to pay. I combine this with the Hoppe's Elite Copper cleaner (also with no smell) once in a while to really concentrate on copper removal. Great, great stuff and works without putting a toxic cloud in my one-bedroom!
