Product Information

Custom-grade ammunition from the factory. Built to the tightest tolerances for peak performance rivaling and sometimes surpassing handloads in many guns. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Loaded with Hornady's Super Shock Tip (SST) Bullet, this load combines proven Hornady performance with a higher ballistic coefficient than available with most hunting bullets. The sharp, pointed polymer tip creates a faster, flatter shooting bullet. With its one-piece core and jacket strengthened in critical areas, the SST delivers much more controlled expansion and superior weight retention than other tipped bullets.

As good as it gets

Harvested 3 deer in 2 weeks with 3 rounds.
1 of them went 10 yards before dropping because I pulled the shot, the other two dropped in their tracks. Solid round for whitetail.

This dog hunts... Dropped a 300lb boar from 80yds - hit him like a hammer! hog made it 15ft and expired... The only round in my 6.8 SPC I trust to hunt hogs with. 16" barrel ARBC .4002460fps1612ft lbsHornady made this one right!

I recently purchased a box of Hornady 120 grain SST ammo for my 6.8 SPC AR. This ammo is very accurate at 100 yds. It will shoot 1" or less shot groups and has a flat trajectory. However, out of 40 rounds, I had 5 cases that failed to eject because of case over expansion. Two cases expanded so much in the chamber that I had to pry them out. Also, there was noticeable over expansion at the base of several casings that did properly eject. I shot 40 rounds of Hornady 110 grain BTHP with no issues and same accuracy at 100 yds. Because of my experience, I will be sticking with the 110grain BTHP.

Used this round in my new AR-Stag Arms Hunter model. Took a whitetail 6pt buck 2011 at 120yds with great results. Expansion of the round was excellent inside the cavity. Only made about 20yds before he was down.

The most accurate ammo I have found for my AR. Also, I have now killed two deer with it and found performance to be excellent. The first deer was dead right there, and the second didn't make it 50 yards (heart/lung shots). Velocity is slightly better than advertised out of my 16" barrel. No complaints!

This ammo shoots as good as reloads out of the 20" AR-Stoner barrel I bought from Midway for an AR-15 Custom deer rifle. It made me kind of giddy how good my groups were at 100 yards. I had to save some for deer season!

This ammo is great. I've only shot it at 50yds, because that is the farthest I can at my place, and it is always under .5. My last group was .373. I look forward to buying some of the bullets, and reloading myself to get the velocity up.

The only thing I don't like about this round is the velocity, but discounting that it shoots .5" 5 shot groups out of my LWRC M6A2 16.1" rifle @100yds. This would make a good game round or self defense, as always check to make sure your gun likes it before placing your life on the line. Fortunately for me, I haven't found a 6.8 round yet (refuse to use Remington, nasty ammo for the company that came up with this chambering) that won't shoot .75" or better yet!!!! And this is out of a semi-auto!!!!!
