Lee 2-Cavity Bullet Molds are a great choice for reloaders looking for a quality mold at an affordable price. Lee machines their mold blocks from aluminum making them rust resistant. Aluminum molds heat up and cool down faster than iron or steel molds and good bullets can usually be produced only after a few casts. In addition, aluminum blocks are one-third the weight of iron or steel mold blocks offering the bullet caster less fatigue during extended casting sessions. To ensure the best possible bullets, mold block halves are CNC machined for unmatched roundness and size control. Weights given are Lee's weights with suggested alloy; actual weight may vary due to the alloy mixture used.

The best mould for the ...

The best mould for the .500 SW, I put linotype water quenching bullets with the hornady gas-check, lube with red rooster & size to 12,71 mm... use it on the 2 crimp groove and a lot of grains of w296 (more than 40 grains) and superpassed all comercial hot loads, 1/2"or 1" at 25 mts. Took a Water Buffalo with it, one shot one kill, 10 Stars.....go for it, I will buy another just in case,

Really good mold for the ...

Really good mold for the money. I had to cast the bullets quickly or the mold got too cold. Used 90% pure lead 10% babbitt. Using them for 12 ga shotgun sabot loads. Worked perfect with candle smoke.

I have to increase the ...

I have to increase the lead temp a bit to get good pours but it produces very good bullets. One warning, this bullet out of a .500 smith at even moderate velocities kicks like a missouri mule on steroids!I just wish I could shoot as accurate as this bullet is capable of.

The finest mold for ...

The finest mold for 500S&W. Keeps a tight profile with Midway 1:20 tin lead alloy - no wrinkles or voids. Keep the lead hot (750 Deg)and work fast. Don't allow the mold to cool or wrinkled bullets come out. Follow breakin procedures and produce good bullets fast.The bullets produced in this mold is very accurate - 2" at 25 yds w/o trying too hard. Lee molds- best value, performance and ease of use.

Produces very good cast ...

Produces very good cast bullets for 500 S&W. As cast diameter is 0.503" so I size down to 0.501". Best lube so far is Lyman orange. Accuracy matches factory round - 2-3" at 25yds. I have to admit I cannot withstand the Corbon 400 gr+ loads. I tone down the reloads to about 1300- 1400 fps using bullets from this mold and can shoot more rounds. But this is still 1600 - 1900 ft-lbs so I use Uncle Mike's gloves to tame the recoil. I found that about 1000 -1200 fps produces more tenable recoil and pleasing to shoot. I hope to see a 275 gr and 375 gr bullet mold from Lee soon but this 440 gr mold works fine!

GREAT mold and bullet! Saved me loads of cash over jacketed bullets for my S&W 500. I almost sold my S&W 500 because of bullet costs until I found this inexpensive Lee mold.

Been casting off and on ...

Been casting off and on for years and picked this mold up after buying a 500 Magnum and realizing rounds were extremely expensive and so were just the projectiles. Simply crazy!Fired up the furnace and started casting great bullets with this mold from the beginning after applying Frankford Arsenal Drop Out. Hornady gas checks work great with this bullet, and it shoots as well as I can hold the gun, cutting ragged holes at normal handgun distances. Don't have a long range to work with yet to really wring them out at distance. Running some ~800 fps for a light load and minimum recoil while having ~1000 ft/lbs at the muzzle. Running some up to ~1500 fps, which is more than my wrist can stand for more than 1-2 rounds, and I feel it for a few days. This thing is either a monster, or I'm showing my age. Great bullet for everything with this caliber, and the best deal in molds on the market. Keep the mold hot and cast 'em hot. Also used the Lee sizer with these bullets--fist time I've tried it, as I normally used the Lyman 450, but they were out of the proper dies for the 500 Mag. Lee job worked well, but that liquid lube is messy to work with. No leading problems, though, even at the higher velocities. Recommend this mold.

Exceptional & very good ...

Exceptional & very good mold. The dimensional quality of the resultant castings are superior to other molds I've used. Drops 0.502" very round, sharp edge bullets. The round nose flat point design has the widest meplat vs truncated cone or semi-wad cutter tips. Problem though is that no one yet makes 0.50" gas checks. So I load light. A direct result is that ultra accurate shots are easy. Am doing 2" at 28 yds- not bad for an elephant gun. Use Midway 20% tin hard alloy and Lyman Orange lube for best performance and little leading. Without doubt ,this mold is also very easy to break-in. Read and follow the instructions to the dot and produce beautiful accurate bullets in no time. 2 cavities makes casting 150 rounds a short but enjoyable trip. Definitely, the finest mold(so far) for the 500 S&W. Would have scored this mold 10 stars if this review had such rating!!

These Molds are Great. It ...

These Molds are Great. It is advertised as a 440 grain Bullet. I am getting a 459gr bullet with wheel weights. I added 4% more tin to the mix and got the bullet weight down to around 452grs The extra weight is ok but I don't have correct reloading data for the weight, but I am figuring it out. The bullet shoots very accurately
