Product Information

The Daniel Defense AR-15 Omega Rail is a 2-Piece, Free Float Handguard featuring an uninterrupted top rail platform, a detachable lower rail, a pair of QD sling swivel sockets, 6061-T6 Aircraft Grade Aluminum construction, and a Type III Hard Coat Anodized finish. Installation of the Omega Rail is simple and fast, with no permanent modifications to the host rifle necessary, nor intensive disassembly of the rifle's gas system or delta ring assembly required. Once the original polymer handguards have been removed, the Omega Rail is then secured in their place to the factory barrel nut with the supplied set of Allen Head screws. All of the handguard's rail interface surfaces are precision CNC-machined to military M1913 Picatinny Rail specifications for ease of use with rail-mounted tactical accessories. Includes 3 black santoprene ladder-style rail covers.

Very pleased with this ...

Very pleased with this purchase. Extremely solid lock up and a five minute installation! If your setup is like mine with a permanent flash hider and pinned sight base, the two piece rail is one of the few options without drastic modifications. Feels very comfortable with the ladder rail covers installed. Very lightweight and looks awesome!

I have two of these ...

I have two of these rails, one for 5.56 and one .22LR. The dimensions fit a 22 suppressor using a short barrel and I just ordered a 3rd one for use with a 300blk upper. People are not joking when they say these are rock solid and easy to install.

I was scared to the spend ...

I was scared to the spend the money. But wow, this the nicest rail I've ever seen. It fit right on my .50 Beowulf that I could not put a free float one piece tube on due to the muzzlebreak. I love that it is so narrow on the sides, yet the top rail lines up with the receiver. Wish I would have bought two instead of a YHM for my other AR....

Top of the line! ...

Top of the line! Excellent design. Fast easy installation with a screw driver and supplied Allen wrench. I am really impressed and plan on getting another one or two of these. Just wish they weren't so darn expensive! But I can see it took a lot of programming and machine work to make one.

Rock solid with no ...

Rock solid with no movement/slippage on my S&W MP15. Easy to install and aligns perfectly with the rail on the upper receiver perfectly. The only change I would recommend is for DD to get rid of the slot head screws that hold the 2 halves together and replace them with some nice looking socket head cap screws [black] that match the rail.

This is a ...

This is a well-thought-out, nicely made product, which installs easily and requires NO modification to the rifle. I wanted a free-floated forend and initially looked only at the one piece designs. However, I really preferred not to remove the flash hider and gas block if it wasn't necessary. Initially I was concerned about the screws coming loose and falling out, but the DD engineers were a step ahead here, too, and located the screws where they'll be retained by either a mounted accessory or one of the cover strips. Considering the way I use my rifle, it would be difficult for me to evaluate the claim that a one piece design might be stronger. I did purchase a second of these rails for a rifle for a relative following his return from Afghanistan and he's as happy with his as I am with mine.

Very pleased. Best way to ...

Very pleased. Best way to get free float with NO MODs to the weapon. Delta ring pry tool helped install--10 minutes total. Easy on the screws; little bit o' blue loctite on threads. Now my fore grip will not budge the rail and the upper is perfectly lined up. I feel like I've got a solid monopod and can press it against a wall without compressing the delta ring like my MI drop-in forends I was using before. If you have a 16" patrolmans' carbine, GET THIS PRODUCT. I've got that "more-than-satisfied" feeling from Daniel Defense and Midwayusa. Money well spent.
