The Lancer Systems L5AWM Magazine is a polymer and steel hybrid that combines the best features of each material. The one-piece steel feed lip unit is permanently fixed to the polymer body. The steel is hardened so the dimensions will not change in long term storage or rough use. The PTFE coating ensures the steel will not rust. The polymer body is designed with an internal dimension that is a constant curve, combined with a no-tilt follower for maximum reliability in feeding 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition. The exterior texture of the polymer body is aggressive for improved grip when changing magazines. The steel feed lip assembly and the polymer body are corrosion and chemical resistant. The translucent smoke body allows you to see how many rounds are remaining in the magazine. The Floor plate slides off similar to a USGI magazine for cleaning and maintenance.

Purchased this Lancer magazine for use in my 458 Rock River SOCOM. No problems and every round fed, even the Remington 405 grain 45-70 bullet. Great product and superior to 5.56 aluminum magazines for this use.

Smooth function loading and in operation. Easy to disassemble to clean after use, which is a big plus to me. The Lancer compares very well with the Magpuls which I have used for some time now and the cost is comparable. I will definitly consider buying some more Lancer magazines with my next order with Midway.

Havent even had a chance to run it yet but look solid. I agree they are really a beautiful mag, very minimal in design but in a badass way. I wanted it known however that rounds will fly out of it if you slap the bottom. Its with enough force that Im sure they wont ever pop out on their own, i.e. Tapco mags *cough;cough*,. Not a deal breaker for me unless they fly out while upside down in a mag pouch. Almost perfect tho, time will tell.

I bought one of these in each color for evaluation, and eventually use in Sig 556s. I prefer the smoke colored mag for cosmetic and practical purposes. The other mags are much darker, and the smoke mag is closer than the brown mag to a Sig 551 mag in appearance. The brown and black mags are a lot darker, and provide inferior visual count information, especially in low light. They would be about the same in daylight, and they might look better in ARs, Augs, SCARs, or other weapons. I am glad the color I prefer is also the least expensive. The round count target on the front of the mag is easy to read quickly for an exact round count; this is better than the indicators on products from other manufacturers.These feel sturdy and I like the texture. They slide into the mag well easily on my AR, and they drop free nicely. I didn't have any trouble inserting a fully-loaded magazine into an AR with the bolt closed. The only negative comment can possibly make is that these are louder than other polymer magazines, but that is really nit-picking, and I'm sure it is because Lancer used materials with other performance characteristics that were more important. I am going to leave the torture testing to another reviewer, but I can say I expect these to be extremely durable and reliable.

I got one of these to try in my FN SCAR out of curiosity. Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The plastic fells a little cheap, but it didn't break and the mag performed flawlessly for 200 rounds. I'm gonna order a couple more to really torture test. Really pleased!

Seems like a solid product. Which may have some improvements over the old design. Ill be honest, its my first Lancer mag, but it seems to be almost as good as the Magpul. The polymer is def more durable on a PMAG, but the lancer should still hold up to some serious abuse. And it looks WAY cooler!
