These unique forends feature diamond shaped heat vents for improved cooling, an extended top rail for gap free installation, "T" marked rails, and anti-rotation screws for secure installation. These forearms and barrel nuts are made of aluminum and hard coat annodized. The jam nut and anti-rotation screws are made of steel and matte black finished.

Bought this rail to replace my factory plstic guards on my Bushmaster ORC carbine. At first I was going to do a 2 piece non-floated design then I figured to spend the extra for a full floating guard. Let me say, once you free-float, you'll never turn back!! Accuracy has definitely improved. The only thing I didn't like about it was that I had to use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the locking ring as it did come loose once. Once you get it tight, you'll never have to worry. Plus it works great with the factory gas block. I would highly recommend getting the end cap to screw over it. I used the end cap with the bigger hole and worked flawlessly. Great investment.

Great Handguard! Not so great shipping

This is a great handguard. Mine did come in damaged because they shipped it in an envelope instead of a box. This is aluminum and if dropped can be damaged. Mine was. I did install on it to make sure it and my barrel would work. This handguard with a DPMS stainless bull barrel look great. I'll be replacing the damaged product with one of the same.

Not only does this thing ...

Not only does this thing look awesome, it is functional as well. I used it on a 7.62x39 build to replace the stock handguard and it helped shrink the group and speed up the cooling process for extended sessions at the bench or hog stand. Great product.

I am only giving it a 4 ...

I am only giving it a 4 star because my barrel nut only torques to 15 ft. lbs. I gave up on going 1 more hole when the wrench said 80. I took the nut off pulled the barrel loose and Started over. I called Y. H. and the gentleman I spoke with was very helpful. Advice was leave it at 15 and see how it shoots. All in all it don't shoot any better or any worse than it did before but this is one good lookin' fore end; I can mount anything that I want anywhere that I want. I am buying another for a different upper. Also I only use Yankee Hill AR parts, what ever they make is the best.

I got the mid length ...

I got the mid length diamond hand gaurd. Fit and finish was great. Unit was a little heavier than expected but ok. Installed very easy. The only screw up was I got the wrong end cap. Before you order take the hand gaurd off and measure the barrel step behind the gas block. My bad, learning curve.

I purchased the Specter ...

I purchased the Specter length for my RRA carbine and finished it off with the YHM handguard cap. There is a small gap between the upper receiver and the forearm. It could be because I torqued it to USMC specs instead of following the YHM instructions. Doesn't bother me, just something to be aware of. Great product for the price.

Well made and solid ...

Well made and solid handguard, installs with standard AR wrench. The locking screws to prevent loosening also ensures perfect alignment. The top rail aligns perfectly with my upper and allows a solid mount for my Eotech on my 7.5" SBR. The Carbine length is perfect with my Noveseke Pig just inside the handguard, makes for a wicked looking rifle.

I already have one, and ...

I already have one, and was buying a second for another upper, but was a little disappointed. The new ones don't have front threaded holes in the 3 and 9 o'clock position for studs. I feel it looses a little versatility with sling attatchment, but otherwise an excellent product.

Heavy, but very nice. ...

Heavy, but very nice. Since I put this on a 24" stainless steel bull barrel, the weight is not a big deal. This is high quality gear, and worth every penny. Installation is easy, if you have the correct tool. It looks great, and is rock solid. I'm buying another one for my new 6.8 SPC build.

Excellent handguard, ...

Excellent handguard, easily installs with standard AR wrench, the locking screws to prevent untwisting tolerances are perfect and easy to use. Finish and quality are top notch. Only suggestion would be to avoid using the mid length size on your mid length gas system 16" rifle - it feels front heavy.
