Works just fine as a gas tube. It fit just fine on my rifle length application. The black finish is a nice touch but is not very durable as stated in other reviews. If you can manage to get it installed under a rail without scratching it, I imagine the finish would stay intact. I'd like to see how the finish holds up to repeated heat at the range. It does look good under my Daniel Defense Lite rail. The fact that it comes with the gas block pin is a plus.

This Yankee Hill Machine Gas Tube looked good out right of the package. Once on the rifle, black paint wiped off by just touching it with bare hands. Not a big issue since its under hand guards. Gas tube functions flawlessly.

YH made this part black, as it should be. It fit perfectly and does its job. I expect it will be more corrosion resistant than the original bare metal tube it replaced and that should enhance the reliability of the rifle. Great product

This tube puts a very nice custom touch to any build. The black tube really helps the looks of the gun.

I installed this in my 16in lightweight AR build. Light doesn't glint off this one like the standard gas tubes...if you're concerned about that kind of thing. Fit and finish were perfect, installed easily, and functioned flawlessly at the range. I will purchase another for my next build.

WOW this looks great under my OD green handgaurds. the only problem i have is that its not a tight fit going into my upper receiver like my old one was but hey other then that it works great cant wait to go shooting this weekend.

Nice lookin tube right out of the package, but after a few clips of rapid fire the black "plating" burnt off the tube and has coated the bottom of it exposing the top as bare metal. But i can only see the bottom of the tube anyways thru my troy rail. Dont really expect the black coating to last much longer.Might buy it again but i would not expect it to stay black for long.

As Timothy said earlier, this thing really looks slick! Especially, if you mount it on a low-profile gas block and use a specter length forearm. It seemed like it was either a high temp powder coat or perhaps a thin ceramic coating. I did not have any issues with the coating coming off. It is nice to have a monochromatic upper (matte black). Now, my regular gas tubes really stand out to me. I would buy another, should I have the need for a gas tube.
