Product Information

Thompson Center Cheap Shot Sabots come with lead hollow point bullets provide the shooter with the same basic ballistics, trajectory and point of aim as the more expensive jacketed bullets. They are ideal for the hunter who does a lot of pre-season practice or who prefers a lead projectile.

I shoot these through my ...

I shoot these through my encore and they fly excellent, just as good as any other brand. I took a doe in 2010 with these at 40yds quartering away. Went in good and was able to recover bullet and was perfectly expanded, but like a post below I felt she ran a little far for the shot placement. I will try them again, that was only one instance.

Pro: as accurate as the ...

Pro: as accurate as the more expensive bullets out of my gun (CVA Accura).Con: took one deer this season with them. I used 90 gr of 777, shot the deer at 40 yards. Shot sat dead center in the chest cavity, entry and exit wound were identical in size and the deer ran 150 yards.I will use them for target shooting again but not for hunting.

Best bullet for the for your money. Shoots very good from both my Knights, the other jacketed 240gr want open at low fps. These have no jacket to deal with. Bullet goes to work from impact to exit.Try em!

I love these, they are ...

I love these, they are great for target practice and have violent expansion from my testing, but I have not taken a deer with them yet. I put bore butter on the sabots since they are very tight in more bore, I like the tight fit though.

I use these in two ...

I use these in two separate rifles and they group just as well as the expensive bullets (1.5 - 2"). I've taken 7 whitetail with them and have only recovered one bullet that traveled the length of the deer and mushroomed perfectly. They prefer 100 to 120gr of powder in my T/C Encores.

I've used the TC Cheap ...

I've used the TC Cheap Shot Sabot this year for the first time. I was impressed with the ease of loading as well as the group it held when shooting it through my TC Omega. I used the Sabot deer hunting, and was impressed with the knock down power it has. Id recommend them to anyone for target shooting or hunting.

I purchased several packs ...

I purchased several packs of these to use with a Austin Halleck 320 50 cal for practice. They are great. They load easily, shoot small groups, and are very well cast. I generally clean after every shot, lube with bore butter, then load the bullet/sabot. Using iron sights, I get about 5 inch groups at 100 yards. With a scope, I'd estimate that my grouping would be considerably better (previous groups same rifle using the same sabots with the Hornady bullets produced legit 2 inch averages, a couple sub MOA)
