Product Information

The DPMS Kitty Kat AR-15 Pistol Barrel is fully chambered and ready to install on an upper receiver. The 7" Heavy Contour Barrel is machined from Mil-Spec 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel and is Chrome Lined for durability and corrosion resistance. It features versatile 1 in 9" Twist Rifling that is ideal for use with light- to medium-weight projectiles up to about 69 grains, and its true 5.56x45mm NATO chamber ensures reliable feeding with either commercial or surplus ammunition. The barrel is threaded 1/2"-28 for adding any compatible muzzle device and includes a factory-installed forged front sight base, barrel extension and locator pin. Front sight post, detent and spring are NOT included.

I have had this barrel for several months now and I am very happy with it! it does have m4 feed ramps and is very reliable. I have put over 3000 rounds through it and have yet to have any problems. I use wolf and other Russian brand ammo as well as American made high end ammo, nothing seems to jam up this barrel! I use .223 and 5.56 NATO the .223 stuff is nice end easy on the eyes(not much power) but the 5.56 stuff will blind you!;) Huge fire ball and the recoil is noticeable! not bad just you know you are shooting 5.56 out of a 7 inch barrel. I am buying more of these!!!!!

This barrel does not have the M4 feed ramps so unfortunately you will need a upper receiver that is also not equipped with M4 feed ramps.The M4 feed ramps would be nice when building an AR-15 Pistol. They aid in the feeding into the chamber. I was able to get the M4 cut into the barrel extension at a gunsmith. If your upper receiver has M4 F.R.'s you cannot use this barrel without modification as it will have a "Failure To Feed" and you may see the bullet tip catch on the feed ramp. Great price and quality otherwise.

Worked great with XM 193 and a H2 Buffer. Also used Wolf Ammo but had short cycle's until I installed a regular carbine buffer. Then it was 100%. Also, prior to use I used the 5.56 Neck and Throat reamer from Michi-Guns. Don't know if it would have been as reliable if I hadn't. Especially since I did check the chamber and it was .223.

This is a nice no-nonsense heavy barrel. It has a rather nice chrome lining and is priced right. Only thing I didn't like was when I took off the front sight housing it was not parkerized under it. Oh well, no matter seeing as I have bead blasted it anyway and applied an new color to it. Looks great under my 7"Yankee Hill free float fore end and adds just the kind of weight I wanted for my pistol...
