The Mako MWG Magazine Well Extension Grip attaches to the mag well on the AR-15 and converts it to a more ergonomic vertical grip. Additionally, the MWG functions as a magazine well funnel for faster reloads. By positioning the vertical grip so close to the firearms natural balance point target transitions are faster and handling is improved.

Great way to get a grip without rails and vertical fore grips. 4 stars instead of 5 because as stated on packaging this is designed to fit the firearms used by the Israeli forces, for Commercial AR's (at least my M&P15) it took some time with a Dremel (use a green cone shape stone for best results) to fit properly. Once installed it is comfortable to hold and doesn't get your hand as hot as fast compared to holding a bare mag well. With this installed you can still open the upper to remove the bolt carrier and install a .22 LR conversion but it will not open all the way as before. Just 3 Allen bolts to install and remove grip.

This product would not fit my S&W MP15 without using a dremel tool to make it fit. Then once it was fitted properly unless you are using standard metal magazines any other type would just get stuck inside the mag well. I have 20 & 30 round Magpul magazines and all of them would not go in or out unless the Mako MWG was remodeled with a dremel tool. This product in my mind was a waste of $22.65, I will never buy another mako product again.

Installed one on my carbine and I love it. Had to trim a little for a good fit but I like customizing parts. It allows good control of the weapon.

This is a very good idea, ...

This is a very good idea, but it was badly made. I put it on my Rock River and my DPMS. I had to apply a lot of pressure to get them to go on the mag well. After I got them on I found that they had pinched the mag well and my mags would not drop out, but had to be pulled out. I used three different mags on both rifles just in case it was the mag. It was not. They also don't allow the rifle to break open all the way. Its too bad because they do allow for a better grip. Im sending one back to Midway because I tried to get one to fit better with my dremel tool by removing some plastic . But no luck there. Hope they get their act together because like I said it is a good idea.

I bought 2 of these, look ...

I bought 2 of these, look great but need to remove lots of material for the CMMG, Bushmaster, and Tactical Innovations lowers. Also if you have upgraded your triggerguard to a magpul arched triggerguard you're going to have to remove some material. I got it to fit my CMMG and Bushmaster lowers but I had to remove a ton of plastic and no hope for a lower with a machined trigger guard. Good Luck!

I used the Mako mag well ...

I used the Mako mag well grip on a Mega Arms lower and it fit perfect out of package with no issues, I use it with legal 5 round Stoner clip for coyotes. The clip is not seen behind grip, and the magazine pops out CLEAN SMOOTH. So yes you can use it with smaller magazines.

I like it! Fit nice on ...

I like it! Fit nice on Spike's Tactical lower. A little bulky looking, but the flared well makes easy for reloads. I recommend this if you are someone that holds the mag well when shooting.
