Bell & Carlson's Medalist Varmint/Tactical Stocks were designed from the ground up to help maximize a rifle's performance by providing a rock-solid, ergonomic firing platform incorporating the accuracy enhancing characteristics demanded by today's serious shooters with the resilience necessary for use in extreme environmental conditions. All Medalist stocks are constructed of solid structural urethane combined with aramid, graphite and fiberglass materials to enhance strength. A precision, CNC-machined Aluminum Bedding Block makes contact with the full length of the rifle's action, ensuring a perfect metal-to-metal fit and serving to align the barreled action, stiffen the forend, and eliminate the need for conventional bedding methods.

This M40 Medalist Stock features an adjustable cheek piece for proper eye-to-optic alignment and a 3-way adjustable butt assembly that allows for changes to the length of pull, cant(left/right) and height (up/down). The stock's forend is tapered to allow for minute elevation adjustments when slid back or forth upon a forward rest, and is equipped with an integral aluminum forearm rail to allow for the attachment and positioning of accessories (such as a bipod) at the shooter's discretion.

Technical Notes: This stock is designed to fit Short Action Remington 700 BDL rifles with a Hinged Floorplate and Heavy/Varmint Barrel Contour.

I found my stock to be of great quality and just what I was looking for to upgrade the H-S Precision that came stock on my Rem 50R Milspec. I did not find it to be as "drop in" as all the literature described. OK, close but I guess I'm too fussy. A quick check with some Gold spotting in compound showed that the plastic, while in the molding process, had flowed over the tang area of the action block and along the sides near the magazine box cutout. this resulted in contact at the front of the block and at the plastic at the rear of the tang, only. Also some contact along the plastic above the block in various spots above the mag cutout.After a few hours of carefully scraping the plastic where it marked with the compound (just like fitting an old chevy rod bearing) I finally had full contact on the support surfaces of the aluminum, not plastic. Some people might have been happy to just bed the action in acraglass or Devcon but that would only be covering up the problem and at added espense.Overall the stock is excellent. The problems I described are solvable without having to return for warranty service.

This stock is the best ...

This stock is the best bang for the buck you will find. I have it mated with a custom rem 700 short action in 308 Win. Shooting a custom Lilja barrel I have shot a "0" group ( three shots same hole) at 100yds. My only complaint is that the rear sling stud is where my hand rides if I find the need to shoot off of my hand instead of my bean bag. So I moved the stud. I have it inletted on the bottom for Badger Ordnance floor metal/detachable box. Everything cycles smoothly. It does weigh a bit more than the Mcmillan, but other than that I find it as stable a shooting platform as any stock you can purchase. Good hunting!

This is a Tactical/ ...

This is a Tactical/ Varmint stock (HEAVY & SOLID)!! Not a sporter or guide stock. The product info says 3lbs but mine weighs closer to 6.5lbs. I love this feature because I am not carrying it around a mountain but picking a hide and hunkering down! I love the fully adjustable butt and grip angle. Its almost like holding a 1911 grip, the angle is so similar. Harris Bipod adapter stud #6 is the size for the forend rail if you want to get a 2nd for sling to attach separately.

Bought this stock as an ...

Bought this stock as an upgrade for my Remington 700 SPS in 308 Win. The stock was drop in for the action, but it took some extra work for the Wyatt detachable magazine trigger gaurd to work. The extra weight has reduced the recoil when on bags at the range. I have only shot it at a 100 yard range but the groupings have improved a good bit. I am very satisfied with the upgrade and now I am looking for the next piece.

Just got the stock and ...

Just got the stock and fitted it to a 300 Ultra Tactical. Looks and feels great. Have not shot it yet, looking forward to range day. Only complaint is that for the amount I paid for the stock I expected it to come with the adjustment wrench for the stock and instructions for the lop adjustments.

Awesome stock. Very well ...

Awesome stock. Very well built and comfortable. Just a drop in for a Remington 700 BDL. Nice clean change over and I was out shooting in 15 minutes. Tightened up my grouping nicely. So glad I didn't go with my first choice, McMillan. Thanks Bell and Carlson.

I looked at McMillan ...

I looked at McMillan stocks,and almost bought one,until I fund The Bell and Carlson stock.It tightened my group @ 300 yards to .500 This was a GREAT investment!!!!!! THANKS MIDWAY !!!! A great stock at an unbelievable price!!
