What can you say about paper targets. They do what they are supposed to. I use both sides for rifle shooting. Good product and will buy again.

On page 3 of the Midway Shooting and Reloading catalogue, December 2002, Midway has announced that the Front-N-Back targets are to be discontinued. Too bad. I have grown to really like them and use them for all my target needs. They are now on sale for $5.90 each. Think about it.....that's a heckuva deal at just 2.36 cents apeice. Most of you guys reading this are paying 10 to 25 cents apeice for targets at the gun shop.I just reordered 5 packs!

I see my review of several years ago is still on here. I made this review when the Midway brand targets were still available. These were great targets printed on heavy paper. Since then, the Midway targets have been discontinued and replaced with Caldwell targets. At some subsequent time the Caldwell targets have been modified and the Battenfeld name added. Please be aware that my previous rave reviews were for the original Midway brand targets. These are not the same as the current offerings. I saw some of the new targets the other day at the range. They were not printed on heavy paper like mine are. I'm sure glad I bought enough to last for several more years of shooting. The new targets probably are serviceable enough, but Caldwell would be well advised to go back to the heavier papers for this product.

I found the general ...

I found the general design of these targets to be very useful and inexpensive. However it is unfortunate that that thickness of the paper is not what it used to be. I have ordered 3 different packages over the years and the 1st 2 were great, the 3rd however was thin and flimsy more likely to tear than cut a clean hole when struck by the bullet.

This is the best target ...

This is the best target package available. One pack of these at the range and I have many options. Take along some different colored target dots and you can really customize them to your needs. Would have given them a higher rating but they are not as tough as they use to be, a lot thinner now and tear easy if not careful on removing them, holes aren't as clean. STILL the best target value.

The paper is thin and ...

The paper is thin and bullet holes are not as clean or clear as they are in NRA competition targets. However, these are much cheaper, and I only have to carry around one pad of targets, rather than 2, thanks to the 2-sided design.I use these all the time for informal target practice. It's really really hard to beat the price.

I recently re-ordered these targets for the 3rd time! Yes, I guess you can say I like them. They are inexpensive and useful. Midway says the big target is for pistol and the four smaller ones are for rifle, and that's a good use for them. However, thats just a suggestion. You can also use the big pistol target at 100yds with iron sights and/or scope adjustments. The four smaller rifle targets are also good at shorter ranges for .22's. The many uses for these targets will become obvious to you, no matter what types of firearms you shoot. Orange dots are recommended for the bullseye.....you'll really enjoy their added visibility. I'll never go back to those more expensive targets....and I never could understand why anyone would shoot $25 bucks worth of ammo at a plain sheet of paper with a black dot scribbled on with a felt tip marker!See you in the Big Sky Country, pardner!
