These hard rubber base ...

These hard rubber base pads are very well constructed and feature brass inserts inside. They fit on the bottom of my Check-Mate mags and match up with the dimensions of the floor plate perfectly. Seems to be compatible with my stock Springfield mags too. These pads are just the right thickness; not too thin, not too thick. The screws seem to hold up just fine against the somewhat pre-tapped Check-Mate holes but I would probably upgrade to stainless hex button screws anyway. At first I didn't care for the groove across the sides of the pad but now see that there is a practical reason for them -- so that you can easily grab it and pull the mag out of the gun in the event of certain malfunctions. Overall, they seem a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for here.

I put these base pads on my Springfield .45 7 round magazines with no problems. The pre-drilled magazine holes accepted the screws and were tightened down with no binding issues. Makes locking the magazine into the weapon much easier with the palm rather than using my fingers. The extra weight on the magazine base causes the magazine to drop down pad first onto hard surfaces. Well worth the money to protect your magazines.

These base pads work well ...

These base pads work well with S&A mag wells. They proturde enough, but no too much. The huge bonus is the screws which come with the pads. Unlike the McCormick screws, which I dread, they screw right in. No tapping, just screw right in. Brass inserts acound the screws in the pad, work on Kimber and Chip McCormick magazines. These are the ones to purchase.

I put these on my factory Kimber mags that did not come with base pads. These required no drilling or tapping threads, the screws in the package worked with no problems.

I installed the pads on 6 of my Kimber 45 cal magazines using a 4-40 tap. The holes aligned easily. They worked well for my Level 2 training where magazines are ejected and fall to the ground. All 6 of the magazines were fine, and still are.

I don't understand how ...

I don't understand how these get such high rating. I bought these to put on kimber stainless steel magazines. They seem like cheap plastic and the screws do not properly thread into the magazine holes. One screw seems to set properly but the other screw just turns and turns. I tried different combinations of screws, pads, and magazines. The pads do not set tightly. I'm returning them.

Perfect fit on all my Sprinfield OEM mags. No drilling or tapping required in my case. Exactly what my chubby fingers need to positively grab a standard magazine. Well worth it!

Excellent product. I like the ridge grip around the exterior that improves grip and the brass inserts that the screw fit into.Perfect fit on my Kimber TacPro mags. I put them on six magazines. You will be happy with these.

These bumper pads work well. Only negative is the screws can be stripped easily, but i would recommend them.
