The lee dies are the best ...

The lee dies are the best way to go if u get the 3 piece die set it comes with every thing you need.factory crimp and the lyman and some more of them.you have to buy the shell holder.lee has a set of shells holders but they are just 4 the primer.so that is why i am telling you to go with the 3 peace die set it has every thing you need to start reloding. hope this helps some of you new people.

I bought these dies at ...

I bought these dies at the same time as a set of Hornady dies for the same caliber. The Lee dies are smoother in operation (have a better designed expander ball) and appear to have a better internal finish. The thread length on the Lee's is still funny short, although it is better than before; I am able to lock the die in a Hornady Lock-n-Load rings without much of a problem. The full sizer is the main die you feel the difference from the Hornady: the expanding ball on the Lee just slides through, and on the Hornady it is shaped like an olive and requires a lot of force to pull out. The bullet seater is a bit annoying as it left just barely enough space in my Lee Classic cast press to insert a bullet, and it had to be tipped to fit. The Hornady die has a retracting bullet holding sleeve that is really helpful (but the die itself appears to be too short, it had to be backed out of the press almost all the way to provide proper COL). I also use the factory crimp die - did not run quantitative tests with it but think it should improve consistency as opposed to the slight roll crimp you can do with the Hornady seater die. In short, I am keeping the Lee's and will sell the Hornadys.

After going through most brands, Lee dies do best with Weatherby cases. Accurate and factory size ammo is achievable. I thought I'd soon switch over to other brands ( due to Lee's unbelievably super low price) but the Lee has been great so far. On a Weatherby rifle, rounds shot consistent 0.65" grouping at 120 yds almost certain 95% of the time. Buy the Lee and keep more money for powder and components. Try it out, you'll not be disappointed.
