The RCBS APS Hand Priming tool utilizes a universal shellholder that eliminates the need for additional shellholders. It also uses Color-coded primer strips that allow for easy identification of both primer size and type. Feeding primers this manner eliminates the need for hand contact. The primer strips automatically feed and can be interlocked for uninterrupted priming. A primer strip loader (sold separately) allows reloaders to use any primers desired.

This is an outstanding product. I've used it for over two years. It is very reliable and very handy. Switching from small to large primers is a little tricky (a couple small parts it is easy to misplace), but other than that it is fool-proof. I don't know what the other reviewer was saying about shell-holders--this tool does not use separate shell holders at all! It has spring-loaded jaws that automatically adjust to nearly any rim size.Leverage is good, and feel is as good as many single-primer BR priming tools. I personally consider the strip priming system a huge plus. Makes it real easy to try different brands of primers while load testing--just pull out one strip and pop in another.I liked this unit so much I bought two, keeping one for small primers and one for large.

Great Product !

This was ordered a week ago or so when I was having difficulty finding any small pistol primers. I finally found some CCI strip primers which necessitated the purchase of this unit.

Now, this product is very well made, sturdy, and makes loading primers very easy and safe. I have since put away my other automatic priming system and rely solely on this hand priming tool.

The tool fits very well in either hand, is easy to operate and comes highly recommended. Again, it is a very well made quality piece of equipment.

Works great. Much better than the old primer tool that came with the Rock Chucker press. You don't have to worry about shell holders, and a primer is loaded every time. No shaking required to load it up.

I have used this for 32 ACP 223 Remington and 45 Long Colt. It is great not having to worry about primers going everywhere. The only drawback is that you have to get primers on strips. I have used the strip loading tool to put primers on strips but it is very time consuming. So I would suggest buying only primers on strips. I use CCI primers and they are the best in my opinion. Also make sure that if you are using military brass that the primmer crimp is completely removed as this tool is a little less forgiving than others when loading military brass. I give it 5 stars because plain and simple it just works and it is easy to use.

I have two of these dedicated for large and small size primers. I also have a primer strip loaded that makes loading the strips easy. The only problem I have is that one case in 100 pops out of the holder when I go to seat the primer.

This is a great priming tool, even if you don't use CCI APS primers. I don't use CCI primers much , so I bought the strip loader and extra strips to go with this and it works great. The universal shellholder is very nice and really has been universal on everything I've loaded so far(9mm, .357, .45ACP, .223, .308). It's also very easy to change from one primer size to another in no time. The tool is well made, and the priming action is strong and it seats primers with little effort. Overall I'm very satisfied with it.

This hand primer is the best invention next to Gunpowder. I just ordered a 2nd one so I can have one set up for large and small primers. My only complaint about the hand primer is that it does the job so fast and easy that the usual hour or so I set aside for priming goes by in half the time and I have to find something else to do when finished.

I prefer to hand prime my cases. The universal shell holder is just that-universal. It consists of spring loaded jaws that hold the case in position. It takes a little pressure to push the case in, that's all. I have primed .223 to .45 LC changing only the strip of primers. Previous review said his shell holders didn't fit. The shell holders are not needed and there is no way nor need to install them. The strip loader works well and it is advisable to buy it if you prefer to use primers other than CCI preloaded on strips. I've never seen the preloaded strips for sale at retail and shipping costs on primers can get expensive.This is the fastest and least cumbersome way to hand prime cases.
