A good mount is important ...

A good mount is important when mounting a scope and this mount is a solid piece of steel that will always return to zero and help keep your muzzle down. Match it up with TC Maxima Rings and never worry about your scope moving again.

Maxima rings and bases ...

Maxima rings and bases are the best I have found for the Encore, especially the QR models. I use Talley's exclusively on my rifles, but these seem to be equal.When mounted on the blackpowder barrel, you can see the sights clearly over the base when the scope is removed so the quick release feature is useful if you must pull the scope to hunt. You need the medium height rings to clear the sights using a scope with a 50mm objective lens.

One solid scope base. ...

One solid scope base. Never have been one who likes Weaver style mounts but these really impressed me. I also purhcased the Maxima rings and really like them. Granted, steel mounts/rings are a little heavy, but, they are durable. Highly recommend this setup.

A very solid, sturdy ...

A very solid, sturdy base. Maxima bases as well as Maxima rings are great. But remember, they can only be as good as the scope that you mount. Buy a good scope (Nikon, Leupold etc..) and the maxima set up will hold very well.
