The Crosman Nitro Piston Venom Dusk Break Barrel Air Rifle features Crosman's exclusive Nitro Piston technology. This technology provides a smoother and more consistent cocking effort, no decrease in velocity after being cocked for extended periods of time, and extremely quiet performance. The ambidextrous stock has a raised cheek piece and modified, beavertail forearm designed to promote the Artillery Hold shooting position. The wider surface area of the forearm is designed to rest on the palm of your hand, and assists in achieving improved accuracy with break barrel air rifles. The rifle comes with a CenterPoint 3-9x 32mm scope and rings (Scope is not mounted).

Note: Some break barrel action guns may be harder to break than others. It may take added force to break open the barrel for the first couple uses, after several uses, it will become easier. It is recommend to break it open, however not fully cock the gun, 10 times to loosen the barrel and make it easier for future use.

I agree with the first reviewer, it is a bit louder than crosman claims. The trigger is pretty nice for the level of rifle. I have had the same results with accuracy, about 4 or 5 nice shots in the group and then a flier. Great value though and I would recommend it if this is the range youre in.

I've had this rifle for about a month now. Overall, I think it's pretty good. When I first got it, my first shot was quite loud and hard to cock, but after a while it get easier. I guess it needs to be broken into. With regards to accuracy, a lot of people say that it takes about 100-150 shots before the grouping gets better, which is about right. After that many shots, I started to see a more desirable consistency. As far as the scope is concerned, I think it is a decent scope, but one problem that I notice is that the eye relief and how you position yourself when sighting in can distort the position of your shot. I also notice that once I make my sight adjustment, the first shot or so seems to be all over the place, but the subsequent ones are fine.There are so many different variables that come into play, to include the type of pellet, scope, etc. that determines how good you make this to rifle to be.Overall, out of the box, I think this is a decent rifle, really powerful, and a good value for the money.

I own several rifles for long distance precision shooting, and decided to purchase the Crosman Nitro Piston Venom Dusk for off-season practice. It's got the feel of a full-size rifle, and the adjustable trigger allows the shooter to exercise pull control. The trigger comes from the factory adjusted all the way out, but the adjustment screw is easy to reach with a Phillips screwdriver. Despite the claims of 70% reduced noise, the Nitro Piston Venom Dusk is quite loud... roughly equivalent to a book being slammed down hard on a table. The 3-9x32mm scope actually collects light quite well, and holds a repeatable zero. As for accuracy, I've had mixed results. After about 100 pellets, I've determined that this rifle is very sensitive to how the pellet is positioned in the barrel. I can get a 1/4" group from four shots, and then have the fifth drive off 1" or more at 25-feet. I can recommend this for casual practice or training, but competitions are out.
