The Lauer DuraCoat Shake N' Spray Firearm Finishing Kit comes with everything needed for a complete DuraCoat finish. The process is as easy as 1-2-3; degrease with the included TruStrip and scrubbing pad, mix the DuraCoat in the provided jar and spray it on with the provided preval aerosol sprayer.

Hard as Nails

Used according to the directions, Prep work is 95% of the work do that correct and this product will almost out last Factory Finishes, I did (4) even coats on the Metal, synthedic stock, Scope and misc parts, dried 4 hours than I started putting everything toghter. I used it this hunting Season, in the Rain, Snow, climbing and sliding down embankments I beat on it basically, and less than 1% has worn off...Like the Title says (Tough as Nails) My Rifle used was a H&R Handi Rifle SB-2 single shot, take a look at the pictures (Tactical Single shot) Deadly to 150 yards Packing 300 gr LFN Bullet

The color is not even close to Magpul FDE.......way too light.

Easy to use and apply. Hang your parts so you don't have to tilt the can. Doesn't match the real magpul FDE though. It's too light.

Turned out pretty good. Make sure you follow directions and prep good. Only downfall to this product is that its not a perfect match to magpul fde. Its in fact a couple shades lighter. All in all it is a good product.

AMAZING!!! I just did my RRA and it turned out beautiful. The kit has everything, but if your a perfectionist like myself you will get some fine automotive sand paper to rough up the metal for a better canvas to paint on. Yeah, the spray nozzle spit and sputtered a couple of times but that's because its not like your rattle can everyone is used to, just keep it upright and it works fine. Like the directions say, put on a LIGHT coat 3+ times. I was able to put on 5 or 6 coats and still had paint left over so I also coated 5 mil-spec mags 2 coats and that's all she wrote. The finish is super durable and strong, it seriously looks like a factory finish, I could not have been any happier with this product. I will be ordering more so I can do a couple of my AK's in the near future. Thanks Duracoat.

FOR WHAT IT IS, this kit is great. Is it on par with a professional re-finishing job? No, but it's not supposed to be. I was able to coat my entire Rem 870, a tac light and 2 AR mags with this kit. The color is a little different than actual Magpul products, but it's pretty close. If you do 4 or 5 VERY LIGHT coats the end result will turn out better than 2 or 3 heavy coats. If you expect perfection, don't get this kit. If you expect functionality, it works just fine.

I just tried one of these kits and I got outstanding results. I've had a knife and rifle both professionally duracoated and it was expensive. This kit allows the do-it-yourselfers out there a chance to try duracoating out as easily as possible. There's no measuring, or cleaning. Degrease parts, scuff parts, wipe down, shake duracoat for 3 min, mix with hardener and shake for 1min then spray. There's no way to mess this up, it's so simple and easy to use. One item to be aware of is that on the spray can itself it says don't hold at greater than a 45 degree angle. That's just common sense, but also could cause the spitting problems mentioned on the other reviews. Ultimately, this is an outstanding product and after buying one of these kits I've already ordered another. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

Probably the WORST way to apply a good product. It sprays like a spray can running out of paint. Duracoat is a good product, but this is not the way to apply it.

I would not recommend this product if you are picky about the finish on your gun. Duracoat is awesome, however the spray can isn't. It's basically like using rattle can paint, with much better paint. The spray is not very uniform or predictable. It spits and sputters a lot. This was my first time using Duracoat and didn't want to spend a lot and not like it. I should've, and have since, invested in a good air brush. I gave it 2 stars for the crappy spray can. Oh, the actual color is a lot lighter than pictured, as others have said. If you want a desert tan that isn't too light, this is it.
