I have purchased 3 of these Leupold base sets for eventual mounting on Swedish M38 and M96 Mausers as well as on several M1895 Chilean Mausers which I first need to drill and tap. I will do that as soon as I get a hold of my drill and tap fixture (B-Square). I have dry fit them to all of the above rifles in original military configuration and it appears that they will work just fine without additional rifle alterations other than drill and tap. They are well made and the quality is excellent. I have compared to other products but I like these the best.In my case, though, I am making custom rings as no manufacturer that I know of produces rings high enough that will allow mounting a scope on a unaltered military Mauser with its original safety lever.I would be extremely disappointed if they ever became unavailable as I need at least three more sets before I am done mounting scopes on small ring Mausers.
